The principal roles and tasks expected of the PAFAU is to provide a combat capable force to defend the Arstotzkan Union's sovereign territory, and protect critical lines of communication. History

On 22 August 2019, the founding father of the Arstotzkan Union, Ethan Brinkman created the Arstotzkan Union and the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces. On 23 August 2019, the National Assembly was formed and created the State Act 2019, officially making the AUDF the sole protectors of the new state.

During the Second Civil Conflict the Arstotzkan National Government in Exile created the Military Act 2020 which gave the Arstotzkan Government better provisions over the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces and allowed for the defense forces to grow power. This act was eventually superseded and became the Arstotzkan Statute on Military Systems of 2022 and National Security Act.

The Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces became the Arstotzkan Union National Defense Forces on 12 May 2020 under order of the First President.

Following the two civil conflicts of the Arstotzkan Union, the AUNDF dedicated its time to domestic based peacekeeping activities. This was aided with the creation of Arstotzkan High Command which acts as a form of the US Joint Chiefs, in that it commands the military under the discretion of the Office of the Presidency.

On 6 November 2020, the First President ordered the creation of the Arstotzkan Marine Corps and on 26 November 2020 when the Arstotzkan Union went to war with the Confederate Democracy of Gamers, the Arstotzkan Marine Corps were launched as the branch to remove the nation from Arstotzkan territory.

On 5 October 2021, the First President authorized the final name changes for the branches. This being the third time these were changed. Several days later the Arstotzkan Union National Defense Forces became the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces again and dissolved the Arstotzkan Marine Corps and Arstotzkan Air Force.

On 22 November 2022, the First President decided to move towards the future with the Arstotzkan Union after the Constitution was ratified, the First President changed the name of the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces to the People's Armed Forces of the Arstotzkan Union.

In 2023, the First President passed one of the newest pieces of legislation regarding the People's Armed Forces and combined the Arstotzkan Statute on Military Systems, National Security Act, Domestic Protection Bill, Firearms and Civilian Regulation Act and the Firearms Control and Regulations Bill and established the Armed Forces Act 2023.

The PAFAU is divided into three branches, Army, Navy and Reserve.

Equipment

Main Article: Equipment of the People's Armed Forces of the Arstotzkan Union

The PAFAU has a limited amount of weapons and equipment. These include things from Glock 17 (Gel-Blaster) to HK-416D (Gel Blasters) and Nerf Guns. Some Operations have requested the use of weaponry such as empty AKM and AK-74 weapons however these were all denied due to import issues. The Arstotzkan Air Force used two drones, one AeroStar KF-41R Recon Drone and a AeroStar AF-64A Attack Drone. Both of which are now property of the Army and Navy The Arstotzkan Navy operates just one ship, the NSS Oldtown, a Sudno Class patrol vessel, which is dry docked at Gollandiya Territory.

Operations

This shall cover the operations declared by the PAFAU. Some of which were never conducted.

Operation: Blue Shadow

Operation: Blue Shadow was the first Operation to be conducted by the PAFAU and the National Guard of the Arstotzkan Union, now the Arstotzkan Federal Guard. This would have been conducted on February 5th 2020 and would remove the Democratic Labour Party of Arstotzka from power over the National Government. However the Operation was called off on February 2nd 2020, and was fully terminated by Arstotzkan High Command's War Division in June 2020.

Operation: Independence

Operation: Independence is an operation that was announced on May 25th 2021 and was announced to be a Operation that see the recognition of Arstotzkan Sovereignty through the means of defensive measures and political diplomacy. On May 25th 2021, a pdf version of Operation: Independence was placed on a Declassified Files folder on Google Drive and was announced to the Arstotzkan Public, with may asking the Arstotzkan Federal Government as to why it was released and even some beginning to start conspiracy theories with news of the Operation being announced to the National Assembly in May 2020. Many state that the Arstotzkan Federal Government and the public version is a cover up of the actual Operation Independence with many unsure as to what the real motives were behind it.

Operation: Rebellion Destruction

Operation: Rebellion Destruction was the precursor to Operation: Foreign Destruction. Prior to the announcement of the establishment of the Confederate Democracy of Gamers, the Arstotzkan Federal Government ruled that the new nation was a rebellion against the Arstotzkan Union and began to meet with members of Arstotzkan High Command, Arstotzkan High Command - War Division and the AUSIS, to discuss legal options for the destruction of the rebellion. However at the time the Presidents had ordered an operation by the AUSIS to investigate the rebellion to gather information. It was later discovered that it was a foreign nation and the Operation was called off.

Operation: Foreign Destruction

Operation: Foreign Destruction was a military operation to be conducted by the Arstotzkan Marine Corps during the Arstotzkan - Confederate War. The Operation was announced to the people on 26 November 2021 along with the declaration of war. The Operation would see 9 soldiers from the 1st and 2nd Regiments of the Arstotzkan Marine Corps invade the capital city of the CDG. The Operation would have been conducted between November and December 2020, but Arstotzkan High Command's War Division later ruled that a larger military intervention was needed and was pushed to early February 2021. However on 10 February 2021, State Governor, Ethan Brinkman, confronted President of the CDG, Elijah Tibbits on the war and it was later declared that the war ended on that day with no victor and neither country surrendering.

On 15 April 2021, Lt. Gen Zion Orsmby and Mjr. Gen. Ethan Brinkman marched into the CDG capital of Johnston DT. They took the capital in a matter of seconds and reclaimed it back into the Arstotzkan Union. It was announced by the Arstotzkan Press Director to the AUNNN that the military operation was in fact part of Operation: Foreign Destruction. The 1st Regiment of the Arstotzkan Marine Corps was placed into the city until 17 April to prevent any attacks on the Arstotzkan Union because of the take back of the nation.

On 16 April the CDG was allowed to gain the status of city-state under the protection of the Arstotzkan Union and the State Government of Sostoyaniye. Elijah Tibbits was announced to remain in power however would not be allowed to cause any uprising that could lead to hostile intent against the Federal Government. As of today, the CDG is a city under the command of the Arstotzkan Site Protection Authority and has limited power with much of its original power dying out under the new rule.

Operation: Foreign Destruction was celebrated as the first military operation to be completed.

Operation: Peacekeepers (I, II & III)

Operation: Peacekeeper I and Operation Peacekeeper II were a series of current diplomatic, political and military operation conducted by the Office of the Presidency and the Executive Committee along with the Arstotzkan Army Corps 1/1 Battalion. They were begun in response to the 2022 Arstotzkan Independence War. Operation: Peacekeeper II was stepped up to include more military initiatives. On 5 July 2022, Operation Peacekeeper III was named the code name for the second invasion of the Confederate Democracy of Gamers and the first invasion of Grayson Country.
