The Arstotzkan Presidential Guard is the 1st Battalion of the Arstotzkan Union Internal Security Force in the People's Armed Forces. Originally established as the national law enforcement agency it was reduced to limited operation with the creation of the Executive Presidential Order 0001. The duty of the Arstotzkan Presidential Guard is to protect the Office of the Presidency and the presidents in it.

In October 2021, the Arstotzkan Federal Guard went through major re-forming as part of the Second AUDF Reform. This moved it out of its own regiment and placed it in the 1st Battalion of the 1st Regiment of the Arstotzkan Army Corps. It was later moved into the Arstotzkan Union Reserve Force in September 2022.

Following the growing presence of the SCNSI, the Government Security Protection Branch was granted control over the protection of government officials and the Arstotzkan Presidential Guard became a ceremonial guard.

History

Created on 22 August 2019, the Arstotzkan Federal Guard was moved under Operation of the National Army of the Arstotzkan Union.

The Federal Guard, under the name of the National Guard would have preformed in Operation: Blue Shadow. An operation that would have been conducted by a special force of the National Guard known as the National Guard of the Arstotzkan Union Tango Force. This would consist of 4 divisions that would be run by their respective leaders. However, Operation: Blue Shadow was cancelled before it went ahead and was fully terminated by Arstotzkan High Command in 2020.

In October 2020, Arstotzkan High Command approved a measure to rename the National Guard following a shift in politics and with the adoption of federalism in the Arstotzkan Union. On 15 October 2020, the National Guard became the Arstotzkan Federal Guard.

Between 29 September 2021 and 5 October 2021, the Arstotzkan Federal Guard expanded its branches to include territorial protection for the 12 territories across the Arstotzkan Union. This also lead to the disbanding of the 1st and 2nd Divisions of the 2nd Regiment (Arstotzka State Defense Squadron, aka Chernobyl Squadron and Capitol District Defense Squadron, aka Capitol Squadron).

On 31 October 2021, the Arstotzkan Federal Guard was moved to be part of the 1 Division of the 1st Regiment of the Arstotzkan Army. Its territorial operations, were reformed to allow for territorial protection by the new Arstotzkan Police Service.

On 20 October 2022 nearly a year after the Arstotzkan Federal Guard saw its beginning of inactivity the First President and Kommondant announced the Arstotzkan Federal Guard would retire its position as the police service in the Arstotzkan Union and would move the Federal Guard to be known as the Arstotzkan Presidential Guard and would protect the First, Second and Vice Presidents. The First President also announced that the new Arstotzkan Federal Police Service would become the sole enforcer of law in the Arstotzkan Union with the passing of the Crimes Act 2022 and beginning of the Police Force and Public Order Act 2022.

A year later in 2023, the Executive Committee and Arstotzkan Executive War Council reduced the powers and use of the Arstotzkan Presidential Guard and would make it predominately a ceremonial guard rather than a operational battalion, instead using the Government Security Protection Branch as the protector of government officials.

Engagements

The Arstotzkan Federal Guard did not play any part in both Civil Conflicts. They would however play a part in Operation: Blue Shadow before it was abandoned by President Ethan Brinkman in late January 2020.
