The Florenian General Election of 2013 was the election for Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Florenia that took place between the 22 and 30 of December 2013. The first, and only, candidate to be approved by the Monarch, and the only who requested approval, was the incumbent Democratic Liberal Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for the Dominion of Afula The Prince Nathan, who was suspected to obtain a majority of the vote. Due to the fact that there was only one candidate, voters also had the option to simply vote against Prince Nathan. If the "against" category received a majority of the vote, further elections will be held until and individual does. Prince Nathan was able to obtain a massive majority over the against option, and is currently serving his third term as Prime Minister.

Although all Florenian citizens, regardless of their residency, have the right to vote, only residents of the Kingdom can stand for election. By Florenian law, Members of Parliament have the responsibility to organize polling stations for their constituents, and the Foreign Ministry is responsible for receiving and tallying votes from non-residential citizens. This was the first election in Florenia to be done electronically, with voters using the Florenian official website to cast their ballots. All Florenian citizens over the age of eight years have the right to vote.

Results

The Prince Nathan secured a massive majority over the against category, with 87.5% of the vote. His victory was not a surprise, as the majority of the Florenian population had expressed their support. Although the electronic voting was more efficient, while tallying the votes, the government could see the way each citizen voted. The Florenian government has said it will try to make further voting more private.

Voter turnout was far lower than the suspected 92%, with only 67% of eligible voters casting their ballots. All Florenian residential citizens voted, but only 43% of non residential citizens cast their ballot. The electronic voting is not though to have discouraged turnout.
