The Minister of Defence of the Commonwealth of New Virginia, also known simply as the Minister of Defence, is the member of the New Virginian Cabinet who leads the Ministry of Defence. The Minister of Defence, therefore, is responsible for the administration and funding of the New Virginian Defence Force and for coordinating national defence policy within the Commonwealth. The Minister of Defence is also a statutory member of the National Security Council.
The fourth and incumbent Minister of Defence is The Rt. Hon. Dame Eryn Lewis DNVI, who was appointed by President Sir Joseph Kennedy KNVI upon the advice of then acting Prime Minister Sophia Albina on 18 December 2020.
