K. Riley Hewitt is a New Virginian (formerly Austenasian) politician and retired Imperial Navy non-commissioned officer from the Town of Augusta. He serves as BP for Augusta.
Hewitt is the youngest son of William Hewitt and the younger brother of Brooklyn Hewitt, the incumbent Chairman of the Provisional Council of New Virginia. His involvement in politics began in early 2014 with his election as Mayor of the then-Ashukov City of Saint Josephsburg (now a borough of New Richmond). He has served in the Austenasian Armed Forces since the establishment of the then Legio I Virginia of the Austenasian Army in late 2013.
Hewitt was appointed Acting Representative of the newly-established Town of Augusta by the Amerdansk, Augusta and New Richmond Act 2019 on 12 June 2019.
Early life
Hewitt was born in 2003 to William and Kristie Hewitt, the youngest of two children. When he was around three years old, his family moved to what is now known as Saint Josephsburg in New Richmond.
Political career
Career before Austenasia
Prior to New Richmond's transition from a Crown Dependency to a Town in 2014, Hewitt held various local political positions in the Ashukov Federation, such as Mayor of the City of Saint Josephsburg and Prince of Montania (a title he still nominally possesses).
Austenasian career
Upon the establishment of the Town of Augusta on 12 June 2019, Hewitt was appointed Acting Representative of Augusta by Parliament. He soon after joined the Imperial Party, and as a Representative assumed a seat in the Imperial Party Board (the governing authority of the party). He continued to serve as Augusta's Representative until the Secession of New Virginia in 2020.
New Virginian Career
Following New Virginia's independence, Hewitt assumed his seat on the Provisional Council, representing Augusta. Upon the establishment of the Ministry of Defence and the New Virginian Defence Force, he was appointed Minister of Defence by his brother, the Chairman of the Provisional Council. He held office from March to May 2020.
Following the enactment of the Constitution, he was elected as BP for Augusta. He initially served as an independent, but later became a member of the National Party. He currently sits on the opposition benches under Leader of the Opposition Sir Bradley van Dullahan.
Personal life
Hewitt resides in Augusta Town Hall with his parents. He is a classically-trained instrumentalist and choral singer. He is a non-denominational Christian.
