Greater New Aberdare (//) is a territory of the Empire of Aenopia located in Northwestern England consisting of a small house. This is the most densely populated territory of Aenopia, with the entire population of the territory being located in the capital. Aenopian law is enforced by the Emperor, and the territory is defended by the Aenopian Airforce. Greater New Aberdare is home to the capital of Aenopia, New Aberdare for which multiple businesses are based including Tollouse.
Greater New Aberdare was annexed by Aenopia following a misinterpretation from Emperor Logan I during a discussion about territories on the GUM Discord server in August. A member of the Organisation made the statement that Aenopia's claims were suitable for Membership, for which Logan misread. Following this, he opted to annex the territory so Aenopia had a populated territory.
After this decision, it was decided to replace New Llandudno with New Aberdare as the new capital, due to ease of controlling Aenopia. In late August 2019, the decision was made to start construction on Aenopia's first Railway line. During the existence of New Cymru, plans were created to build a high-speed line utilising OO gauge infrastructure and rolling stock. This never came to fruition, however. The railway was later cancelled due to the viability of the project and the amount of funding that the project required.
On 26 January 2020, as part of an initiative led by the GUM titled 'GUM Sister City Project', it was confirmed that the city of New Aberdare was to be twinned with the cities of Pasabrillo in Millania and îles de Betula in Misberia. In February 2020, it was decided to expand the size of the city to include the entirety of its host building, this being the Monarch's house.
Greater New Aberdare is currently the only location in Aenopia for which actively hosts farming. Crops for which are usually grown annually include Cucumbers, Tomatoes and Potatoes. These are usually grown from April - July to September, however the harvesting time tends to depend on the ripeness of the crop. Other crops are also grown in Greater New Aberdare, such as Chillis, Blackberries and Strawberries, to name a few.
Aenopia has a small Postal Service which handles the shipping of letters and postcards within the territory of Greater New Aberdare and to other Micronations. The Postal Service is also responsible for producing Aenopian Postage stamps which can be used within Aenopia and the only such registered stamps to be used on Internal shipping. Mail is handled at New Aberdare Post Office, where it is sorted and distributed to the right areas.
New Aberdare Post Office is also responsible for the legal distribution of Aenopian Starling, for which £0.53 can be exchanged for S£1, which can be traded for Aenopian goods. This service is currently unavailable whilst the Starling is developed and enters into full circulation..
The first series of the Aenopian Postal Service stamps was created on 14 December 2019 and was designed by HM Logan I, and test printed in New Aberdare the same day. This is the main series of stamps. These stamps follow the principle of having an image of a British train instead of usual stamps which feature a portrait of the ruler or a symbol of the nation. This comes from The Emperor's interest in Britain's railways, and Aenopia's connections to the railway.
Plans are underway for an airport to be built close to New Aberdare, for which will see flights into Great Britain operated by Aenopian Air. It is expected that the first flight will take off in 2021 utilising planes built by Marco - an aviation company located in New Llandudno that builds aircraft. These flights will fly to New Llandudno, the ex-capital of Aenopia. The capital was planned to have been served by Aenopia High-Speed, however the project was cancelled due to lack of Government funding and numerous delays.
