Hiddleston and Alonia, formally Hiddleston and Alonia Special Productive District, is the territorial headquarters of the Micronational Association for Finance and Economics. For legal reasons, it is a department of Nedland, but it is ruled by the present Chair of the Micronational Association for Finance and Economics. In the rare instances where a law needs to be passed for the legal convenience of the MAFE, the state's legislature is the Collaborative Assembly of the Micronational Association for Finance and Economics.
In June 2016, the state was the territorial base of the original Hiddleston Street.
The Federated States had seen a resurrection in the later days of 2015 despite much hesitation among its former Congressmen. The revival, led by Former President Henry Twain, was complete by January 6, 2016. The Federation's role as the Atlantic Commonwealth was short-lived, as only five months later the remaining members of the Executive Council announced the dissolution of the Commonwealth.
Twain, who had long been an economic study, admired the thought of a micronation which ran similar to New York City and Wall Street. With no citizenship in a micronation, Twain had taken up journalism for various news outlets which he subsequently used to promote the idea of "White Collar Micronationalism." Twain scribbled and ratified the constitution of the Democratic Republic of the Quetican Islands in early May and ratified it near the end of May. The staple of Quetico, its Monetary Policy, was originally ratified that same day along with a published four-phase plan to create the ideal business environment in micronationalism, one based in The Quetican Islands.
The Quetico Microinternational Stock Exchange opened on May 18, 2016 and began trading shares among companies and individuals. With Twain as Overseer of Quetico Street, the street quickly rose to incorporate several businesses. However, only a couple of days later the Stock Exchange was placed under investigation and was temporarily closed. As a result of struggles to grow, the people of The Quetican Islands agreed it was time for a new Monetary Policy. The Second Monetary Policy of Quetico was put into effect on May 22, 2016. Rather quickly it saw the addition of several new businesses. The Stock Exchange reopened the following day, with an apology from Overseer Twain. Additionally, Twain announced elections for the newly-formed Parliament of The Quetican Islands as well as for a new office of President, to be elected in mid-June 2016. Quickly two parties were formed: Twain's National Party and Ian Nolon's People's Democratic and Liberal Party. Citizens flocked to one of these two parties and multiple people announced their candidacy for Quetican political offices, including Twain, Nolon, Ned Gunderson and Leon Williamson.
Twain, after seeing much instability from the Quetican Islands, Twain moved Quetico Street out of the Islands and made it independent, giving the Quetican Islands to the newly-reincarnated Federated States. Twain sought refuge for the QMSE in another micronation. After being rejected by Anthony Clark of the Republic of Mcarthia, Twain asked Horatio Eden of Whestcorea and Ned Gunderson of Nedland. As a result, Hiddleston and Alonia was shortly an autonomous region of Nedland before breaking away as an independent micronation. Soon, it went through a series of government and name changes until the Grand Duchy of St.Clemens was annexed by the State of Koss.
However, Denniston and the original Hiddlestonian land remained unclaimed until Henry Twain granted back the land of both H&A and Quetico to Nedland on November 1, 2016. Since that time, Nedland has unclaimed many of the old pre-Clementine territories, with the exception of H&A and Macita. Hiddleston and Alonia is mainly part of territorial Nedland for nationalist interests in the country, for it is considered an essential piece of Nedland's history and culture.
