Greater Danubia, also known as the Danubian Territories, are a group of territories near the Croatia-Serbia border, consisting of the Princess Islands, pocket 2 (North Danubia), pocket 3 (Central and South Danubia), and the territory west of Apatin (New Apatin). The territories were claimed by the Federated States of Gapla in 2023 with terra nullius as their justification.

While the territories were claimed by other micronations before, Gapla claims legitimacy to these territories as it claims it was the first valid claimant, with a variety of justifications to support its claims to the territories. These territories are considered the future of Gapla, as they are where future settlements are planned, although the government has stated the claim on Greater Danubia does not eliminate its prior territorial claims on residential areas, Gaplan Antarctica, and Mogollon.

Justifications

Due to the fact that Gapla is not the first to claim the territories, the government justifies the claim on the territories through the argument that the prior claims on the territories were invalid.

The first known claims on pocket 2, pocket 3, and the territory west of Apatin (called by the government as North Danubia, Central and South Danubia, and New Apatin respectively) were by the Principality of Ongal. However, after the Prince of Ongal's death, the nation became inactive on all visible fronts and there was no claimant to the throne of Ongal, rendering the country inactive and without a monarch. The Gaplan government claims that this resulted in the territory's return to terra nullius, and itw as claimed before any known claim on the territory during the period.

The claim on the Princess Islands were justified by the fact by the Principality of Ongal only included claims on the west bank of the Danube, which by definition did not include the Princess Islands. The only known claimant to the islands afterwards was the autonomous region of Pannonia, who relinquished the claim soon after. The islands were then claimed by Republic of Socaland, and the territories were released to terra nullius by Socaland and claimed by Gapla soon after.
