Emma Margaret Bunnell, addressed royally as Her Highness Emma I, Princess of Emeralkia is a female micronationalist and is currently the President of the Federated States of Gapla. She was elected as President after the events of the 2022 Gaplan general election, where the PLP suffered a major setback. Currently attending Venado Middle School, she plans to matriculate into Irvine High School, a public school in Orange County.

She has served as the President of Hubbard Sucks and is a member of the Heroes of the Revolution of the Federated States of Gapla. One of the founders and active members of the State of Emeralkia along with Tessa Huffmire, she is currently the Prime Minister of the State of Emeralkia, as well as a pianist and dancer.

Politics

While originally a right-authoritarian, popular consensus shows that Emma has shifted libertarian over the years.

Through 2019, she was a vocal voice in support of Donald Trump and claimed that he would be easily re-elected to serve a total of eight years in 2020. Popular Gaplan media also claims that she was part of the reason Wyatt Baek left the American Democratic party for the Republicans in 2020. In 2020, she often criticized Gavin Newsom and his COVID-19 restrictions, often posting long rants against the California governor. In addition, she participated in anti-communist activism and supported a conspiracy theory that stated that Chelsea Chen's family was granted money by the Chinese Communist Party for her socialist activism, although this theory was actually a joke by Wyatt Baek taken too seriously and was proven false in 2022.

However, throughout 2021 and 2022, Emma has shown a shift libertarian and her politics is much closer to bleeding-heart right libertarianism rather than right-authoritarianism.

Micronational career

First Emeralkian Conflict

Emma participated in the First Emeralkian Conflict in March 2019, resulting in a joining of Emeralkia to the union and the creation of the unified Principality of Gapla and later the Federated States of Gapla.

After Emeralkia was denied access to the United Micronations due to overpopulation on the number of principalities (Snake, Gapla, and Phoenix, then independent), Emeralkia rebelled as declared their bedrooms as territory, leading to the United Micronations using a treaty to merge into a unified Principality of Gapla.

During this period, there was no clear Emeralkian monarch, which would lead to the Emeralkian Civil Wars.

"Hubbard Sucks"

Emma was elected as the second president of Hubbard Sucks, winning a close race between her predecessor Wyatt Baek.

Hubbard Sucks is considered to be a Gaplan nationalist organization by some members of the left, although most of the left also opposes Hubbard. The organization was created because of the events of the Gaplan Revolution and Hubbard's banning of the Federated States of Gapla. The organization was considered to be important in Gaplan history as it led from the transition of Gapla from a friend group to a global micronation with a purpose.

Highway 81, the reign of power, and the civil war

During the early days of the 2019-2020 school year, the State of Emeralkia had a monopoly over the interstate sessions, having current superpowers Elemental and Folia Tail (then Emeralkia) as colonies. They also took over the "enemy state" of Kingdom City, renaming it to Highway 81. Serena Ali, the governor of Kingdom City, highly opposed this change, saying it was "bad for other countries [sic.] to power on my country [sic.]" after the Emeralkian colonization. Eventually, the Emeralkian empire came to an end after the Emeralkian Civil Wars and internal conflict inside Emeralkia.

Emeralkia endured a civil war during December 2019 and January 2020, eventually de facto splitting the state into two powers, with Queen Tessa and Queen Emma ruling opposite parts of Emeralkia.

Emeralkia soon became an Ozzahyan colony as Ozzah gained substantial power in the interstate sessions. There has been a long argument on who was the legitimate monarch of Emeralkia. Emma claimed that she was jealous when Wyatt Baek, the current President, had "greatly favored" Tessa with titles and recognition of legitimacy, however, outside observers argue that this argument is fallacious. Notably, Vera Sy has commented that it was impossible because "Wyatt had a huge crush on Emma at that time and it was actually more of the other way around."

Chickenopolis split from Emeralkia after a failed confession from Renaldo Chang, with Emma saying that "she wouldn't like a Chicken," which is notable because Renaldo's internal self-declared nickname was "Chicken" due to his state being named Chickenopolis (at that time) and him having a drawing of a chicken in front of his binder. Vera Sy has commented that she was "dissapointed that Renaldo is not Chicken anymore."

Ozzahyan and Elementalian takeovers

During February 2020, the States of Ozzah and Xadia rose to power after a series of compaigns, replacing Emeralkia after its corrupted status in the civil war.

Both states were incredibly active and used proxy states to gain more power in Parliament, it can be also inferred that the Socialist Worker's Party (now the People's Liberal Party) and the National Conservative Union (now the Free Rightist Party) were in competition because of this conflict. The states eventually collapsed and Emeralkia was returned as an independent state.

Elemental, and eventually Folia Tail (September 2020) rose to power and Elemental had conquered Emeralkia with the surrender of Emma to the Elementalians. Tessa was not in the class as she moved to another school, but would eventually reunite next year to see Tessa's anger at the decision.

Resurgence of Emeralkia

After the resurgence of Emeralkia in September 2021 due to Tessa's aggression at Emma for joining Elemental, Emma compromised and gave the Queen title to Tessa as an apology, however, Emma was head of government as Prime Minister.

Emeralkia resurged as a major power, but Elemental and Folia Tail still are major powers larger than Emeralkia. Emeralkia, however, is a major contestant in interstate competitions.

2022 Gaplan Presidential Election

Emma Bunnell unsuccessfully ran for President of the Federated States of Gapla in the 2022 Gaplan Presidential Election. She was running for the Free Rightist Party and lost to Chelsea Chen, and became the Deputy President.

The election results have been contested several times by the Free Rightist Party, controversially, and failed every time.
