The National Royalists - The Green Union, also known by its acronym NRGU or as the National Royalists is a Royalist, Federalist and Environmentalist party in the Abeldane Empire. The party was founded on 4 July 2020, as a merger between the Party of Royalists and Greens and the Abeldane National Union, the Empire’s two opposition parties in the aftermath of the June 2020 election. It is currently the Empire’s governing party, with 6 of the 13 seats in the Volkstag.

The June 2020 Federal Election saw the Party of Royalists and Greens lose 1 of its 3 seats, whereas the governing Abeldane National Union plummeted from 6 to only 1 seat, becoming the smallest federal party in the Empire. Following this, ANU Vorsitzender Patrick Renwick resigned. With a Concordia Alliance government seeming overwhelmingly likely, the PRG and ANU began to cooperate to form an opposition. It quickly became clear both parties would benefit from unification, as evidenced by the fact that had the parties been unified before the election, they would have won 4 seats, as opposed to 2 and 1.

By 4 July 2020 negotiations between PRG and ANU leadership had reached a satisfactory conclusion, and the parties officially announced their merger, and that they would be fielding candidates for the snap July executive election.
