Bandar Melayu is the capital city of the Los Bay Petrosian state of Melayu Federal Territory. The city is a busy port on the Batang Hari River and an oil- and rubber-producing centre. The city is located 26 km from the ruins of Muaro Jambi, an important city in the ancient Srivijaya kingdom. Bandar Melayu was a separate state of Westbrom and Batangpura before its merger into the Melayu Federal Territory

Nearby towns and villages include Mendalo (5.1 nm), Kinati (4.1 nm), Padang (4.5 nm), Tanjungjohor (3.2 nm), Paalmerah (2.8 nm), and Muarakumpe (3.6 nm). Bandar Melayu is served by the Bandar Melayu Batanghari Intermicronational Airport.

History

Bandar Melayu was founded in 2012 after the foundation of Melayu Federal Territory. Before its foundation, Bandar Melayu was a 2 separate state of Westbrom and the Batangpura's capital city of Rigensgrad.

Geography

The total land area of Bandar Melayu is 205.38 km², making it as the largest city in Los Bay Petros by area. Bandar Melayu is located at the south-western portion of the Sumatran Basin, a low-lying area in Eastern Sumatra with an altitude of 0 to 60m above sea level. A segment of the Batanghari River, the longest river in Sumatra at 1700 km, flows through Jambi City.

Bandar Melayu has a tropical climate with a minimum temperature of 22-23 °C and a maximum termperature of 30-32 °C. The level of humidity ranges from 82 to 28%. Annual rainfall of Jambi City is 2296.1mm, with the rainy season lasting from October to March with 20 rainy days a month. The dry season lasts from April to September with an average of 16 rainy days a month.

Transportation

Bandar Melayu is connected by capital city Dredim by a 700 kilometre - National Route 1 and Newark Province of Raflesinesia by a 300 kilometre - National Route 24A. By air, the city is connected by several cities in Los Bay Petros and Indonesia via Bandar Melayu Batanghari Intermicronational Airport. By water, Talang Duku Harbor is located 10 kilometers beyond the city line.
