The Occitanian legislative election, May 2018 will be the 7th parliamentary election of the Popular Union of Occitania. The vote will take place on May 20, 2018.

Background

Electoral system

In the Popular Union of Occitania, everybody, occitanian or not, may be a candidate by completing this form. The closing date for applications is 12 May 2017.

Legislative elections are held every six months in the Popular Union of Occitania. The four deputies are elected on federal lists and proportionately. Three other deputies are elected, each represents a federal republic.

First election for the Melocoton Party, and hopes to maintain its absolute majority in parliament, linked to the merger of Esquerra! and Montserrat. The Latino-Spainard Party has made an agreement with the Melocoton Party, in exchange for the withdrawal of their federal list, they will receive positions in the future Melocoton administration.

Melocoton Party

On April 24, 2018 the Melocoton Party has published his program on the occitanian forum. It is divided into five categories and proposes measures such as the nationalization of arable land, the development of state production as well as increasing diplomacy.
