The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Hindi: विज्ञान, प्रौद्योगिकी एवं नवाचार मंत्रालय), formerly the Ministry of Science and Technology, was a ministry of the government of Vishwamitra which was responsible for formulating and administrating the rules, regulations and laws relating to science and technology in Vishwamitra.
The Department of Science and Technology was placed under the Ministry of Human Resource Development until the creation of the "Ministry of Communications and Technology" on 17 August 2019. The ministry was tasked with the responsibilities of formulation and administration of the sectors of communications and technology in the nation. However, the ministry was dissolved with effective from 4 March 2020 and the affairs were re-delegated to the Ministry of Education. The "Ministry of Science and Technology" was created on 28 January 2021 and further renamed as the "Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation" on 10 July 2021.
The ministry was abolished on 10 June 2022 and merged into the Ministry of Education. Presently, the Ministry of Education and Youth Development is responsible for all matters related to science, while the Ministry of Communications and Technology is responsible for the matters related to technology.
The Space Research Organization of Vishwamitra was an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
