The Ministry of Information and Public Relations (Hindi: सूचना और जनसंपर्क मंत्रालय) was a ministry of the Government of Vishwamitra and now the departments of information and public relations under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The ministry came into existence for the first time on 9 December 2019 when the Department of Information under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was bifurcated to form the Ministry of Information and Public Relations, though it was merged back with the Department of Broadcasting in January 2020 to form the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The ministry was created for the second time in May 2022 when the Department of Information and Broadcasting was reformed into two independent ministries - the Ministry of Information and Public Relations, and the Ministry of Communications and Media (formerly the Ministry of E-communications and Interconnectedness). The two ministries were merged in November 2022 to form the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Functions
The Ministry of Information and Public Relations was responsible for the administration for the formulation and administration of rules, regulations and laws in the areas of information and the regulation of the press and public relations department.

Ministers
The Ministry of Information and Public Relations was headed by the Minister of Information and Public Relations who was either a cabinet rank minister or a minister of state with independent charge. They were responsible for the formulation of various activities, tasks, laws under the ministry's jurisdiction. Cabinet ministers of information and broadcasting were often assisted by a junior minister, or a Minister of State for Information and Public Relations.
Following the creation of the ministry for the first time in 2019, Rajia Hazarika served as the minister with independent charge.
