The Internet Organization (Previously Union) is a micronation that has the sole purpose of uniting the Internet. Their stated goal is to establish The Internet Union as a world superpower as to have control of a large portion of websites and also own a bit of land to live on for their government and some of their people at some point in the future. Priorities of The Union (Now Organization) are Economic development, Member Growth, Service creation, and many more things. They are hosted by Neocities.org and consider them a partner in the liberation of the internet from foreign influence. The Internet Union (Now Organization) is politically unaligned but maintains that it is, in fact, a democracy.
International Policy and Economics
The Internet Organization's policies for war are not very outlined, however, they do say, "we are not capable of war on any front, therefore we cannot wage it. This means that anyone who declares must have some digital advantage over us". The Internet Organization, despite it being online predominantly, has come to the grand conclusion that their idea is possible. As we all know how much economical activity flows through the internet each day. If someone was able to harness that economical power, the possibilities would be endless. That is what drives them to be the way they are nowadays. Accepting of many, from anywhere.
History
The Internet Organization has had its fair share of turmoil in its lifetime as a recently budding micronation. In early June, The Internet Organization had a Communist revolution. The revolution lasted a total of 6 to 12 hours at the maximum. The reason it had taken place was apparently for no exact reason. According to The Head of Congress at the time, there was no reason why it had taken place and as the leader of the revolution, he was speaking for everyone. After that event had occurred, The Internet Organization had planned on reforming its constitution. However, they would not get to this as often as they would've hoped. As a recent update, the new constitution has been implemented, but only in parts where it functions. The State of the Internet Organization is a grey area, and is currently restarting its citizen requests and has called upon the micronations subreddit multiple times before. Times are in flux and there has not been an election as of 3/8/2022.
Government
The government inside the organization is a unique one. They claim to be democratic. Although, they haven't had an election in a while. This could be due to the low amount of members and the community being somewhat stagnant. However, their leader claims they have a bright future. The Government consists of a President, Vice president, and department heads. Those department heads can appoint members to created positions in their respective departments. The congress is made up of website owners and their governments if they should choose to become democratic websites, would be made up of the staff managing the website. From an outside perspective, it may seem very dysfunctional. Although, that is not the case.
Future Of The Union
The future of the Internet Organization is an uncertain one, with not much planning behind it. For the next few years, they plan on developing a local presence within food banks and etc. They plan on opening up a national art development program for other micronations and try to support tech unions. They also want to support small businesses and invest in the economies of nations and their businesses. Much of the micronations future is not decided, and many of the people involved have had issues with starting the process of turning The Internet Organization into an influential micronational organization. They say they will continue to be members of the LIN and the Progressive Organization as they wish to maintain micronational relationships.
