The Grand Duchy of Personia (Pērsāņas Dažkuņegita) is a small micronation located in Northern Europe. It is a Roxist country, with around 30 inhabitants. It was formed in 2018, 2 April, but the constitution signed on 26.12.2020. It is only recognized by other, fellow, micronations, however not recognized by any other state.

Etymology

The title of Personia is unknown. The original name of Personia (Majenia) came from the name of the local river, Mājēna, while the title of Personia is thought to originate from the word 'Persepolis', or the ancient capital of Persia. It's also thought that the name may originate from other rivers that are nearby Personia, such as the Pedeli river in Estonia.

History

Pre-micronational history

Main article: Personian history

It's thought that the first 'united' Personia was first formed sometime before the viking ages, it is thought that Personia (it is unknown how it was called) was more of a confederation of forcefully united Baltic tribes. They mainly lived in the forest, and around the Daugava river, and Mājēnas river. They are thought to trade with many peoples, possibly including Arabs, and probably having raiding periods with the Lithuanians. Around 700, they began to expand around the rivers bank, aswell as begin to build several villages. Some very important leaders lead the Personians to a golden age, possibly even trading with Arabs. During when the German crusaders came in, it is thought that they might've resisted, although from further research from the West Latgalian science and history organization, it could be that Personians continued living their lives, and didn't even know that the Germans were attacking, showing how many archeological sites didn't even have any proof of being destroyed during war. Furthmore, the organization doubts that the Personians raided cooperating Balts, and probably got raided themselves, more historical doubts are placed on the uprising after the battle of Saule, in which the Personian history and archeology organization and government claims that the Personians managed to take over and hold their territories with support of the Semigallians for some time, while the WLSHO heavily doubts this aswell, claiming that "there is no substantial evidence for any Personian uprising during 1200, and only some, while tiny, evidence of a uprising during the early 1300s". The WLSHO claims that "There is no remarkable evidence of a Personian identity truly existing, atleast until the early 2000s. While archeological evidence is present, it could be that this evidence is probably not even remotely to do with Personians", while the PHAO claims that "Personian nationhood and identity has been proved by several documents, that are up to several hundred years old, aswell as archeological evidence, such as a difference in homes, diet, and much else".

Early Personian history

Personia was officialy reformed in 2018, April the second. The constitution wasn't written for 2 more years, as in 2020 the constitution was written, and Personia officialy began to rise in Population and territory.

Modern Personian history

The Personian civil war happened in 01/22/2021. The civil war were mere ambushes and attacks, resulting in the "Three leader period." The three leader period was a period where the three leaders of each sides of the civil war ruled, during this time the economy had been in shambles, and neither leader could agree on anything. Later, the 25th of January coup d'etat happened, resulting in 2 of the three leaders arrested. After the coup, the old Duke took power. In 2021, Personia joined the Progressive association, and is waiting to get accepted into LIN. As of February, 2021 Personia is a roxist state with around 31 inhabitants, most being Personians, however, only making up a mere 30% of the population. In the 8th of March, 3 days after Roberts birthday, Ambestan and Personia had united into Lettija, with Personia still having a lot of Autonomy. However, soon, Lettija would dissolve and Personia continued to be a country. After this all, Personia would have 3 wars, the Alberian independence war (called the Rebel war in Personia), the 20 hour war, which in Personia lost a large portion of territory, and the latest, Third Personian war, which Personia won, although this was only because of West Latgales collapse. After this, Personia continued fighting, this time a new enemy, the Polish insurgents, which they still fight (as of 2022).

Religion

The majority religion is thought to be Lutheranism, although this is unknown.

Political parties

As Personia is a roxist state, it has a conventus, this means, parties exists. Each party has around 2 seats in the Conventus, the national conventus elections of Personia for 2021 had happened, resulting in a sweeping Roxist party victory, with the second party with the most votes being the monarchists. There are currently 7 parties.

Geography

For a small size, Personia is very diverse in both geography and population. Personia has swamps, 2 rivers, several lakes and ponds, hills and mountains, and mainly, forests.

Personia is located in northern europe, in the baltic area, in Selonia, nearby Latgale, so the geography of these areas reflects on Personia and it's people.

Economy

The Personian economy is controled mainly by the constitution, which prevents factories from being used. The economy is centered around the great, Personian agricultural fields. These fields make potatos, cherries, Cucumbers, Tomatos, garlic, Onion, As well as eggs, honey, grapes, and strawberries. There are also the Personian charcoal mounds, used to produce and later, sell charcoal. Nearby Personia, wheat fields exist, so those are sometimes used too. Some of the companies that exist in Personia, also produce items like soft drinks, and even cars (The car company was made before the constitutions second accepting, this means it is technically illegal.) Bicycles are also made in Personia.

Transportation

Transport is mainly limited to Bicycles and cars. No public transport is currently available in Personia. Roads are mainly made from concrete or stone.

Diplomacy

Personia keeps relations with Ambestan and the Nexan republic, also with the nations of the Progressive Association, being a full member of it. It established it's first relations on the day the official constitution was signed, with the Ambestani.

Honours and awards

The only award that exists in Personia is the "Lauvkāja" cross, it is awarded to the people that have done much to Personia and it's people. It is popular in the military and between artists and writers.
