The Department of Foreign Relations is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Liahonia and other micronations. It's motto is "To be a bridge between nations."
Overview
Organization
The Minister of Foreign Relations is the head of the department and a member of the Cabinet of Ministers. The minister organizes and supervises the entire department and its staff, as well as advising King Matthew I on any important matters relating to the department and its activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Protecting and assisting Liahonian citizens living or traveling abroad
- Keeping the public informed about foreign policy and relations with other countries
- Nominating ambassadors for diplomatic missions
- Creating and maintaining diplomatic ties
- Grants and issues passports to Liahonian citizens
- Negotiates, interprets, and terminates treaties and agreements
- Informing the public on the political, economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian conditions in foreign countries
- Coordinate official visits at home and abroad
