The Honorable Knights of the Realm is the most basic form of knighthood in Liahonia, usually granted to those not inducted as a member of one of the organized orders of chivalry. Although knighthood is generally granted to men, and despite the name of the honor, women may become an Honorable Dame of the Realm.
A person who is knighted is formally addressed as "Sir/Lady [First Name] [Surname]" or "Sir/Lady [First Name]" and their spouse as "Sir/Lady [Surname]".
Insignia
The badge can be worn in two forms, either:
- As a badge over the left breast, measuring 3 inches long x 2 inches wide.
- On a ribbon around the neck, measuring 2.5 inches long x 1.5 inches wide.
The badge is described as follows:
- An azure oval with a shield, consisting of an azure cross over a white field, crowned with the State Crown. Inside the shield are two swords crossed together.
The ribbon is a 25:50:25 format, with an azure center and gold edges. A ribbon bar may be worn on a military or civil service uniform.
