The Empire of Zaragoza is a house-only, claim-type internet micronation in Metro Manila. It was founded by Mateo de Mar, born Mateo Fernandez.
The Empire is known for taking part in the condemnation of Belangard, a micronation declared the "most disgusting" by old ally Kirbia, and having the strongest opposition towards modern-age South Korean pop music created by girl and boy bands, and modern Japanese anime such as Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen.
History
Prehistory
In the young days of the nation, it was an electoral family fun kingdom ruled by Princess Tatandra who ascended to the throne in 2017. The Mansion Kingdom was ruled wisely under Tatandra, until elections came round. By popular vote, Prince Otochoy ascended to the throne in mid-2021. Mateo de Mar, the then-Divine Minister, allowed Otochoy to become an emperor effective after election. Through the next year, the Empire was split into two by popular demand and soon enough, the Empire of Otochoy and the Downstairs Kingdom were created under an agreement of sorts. The Republic, only planetary at the time, had an agreement with Tatandra. Tatandra made her nation a constituent state of the Republic, deeming it the first constituent nation to live under the banner of the Republic. It was left without a leader some time after its founding as Tatandra became less fond of ruling under a greater power instead of ruling as the greater power. As of October 2024, the crown of this Kingdom, along with other crowns, have been merged with the Crown of Nova Zaragoza. The Upstairs Empire's territory was later challenged and a war of banter began between the two powers. The Republic, backed out and forfeited the war. Later on December 18, the old Blart agenda, headed by the then-Blart Emperor Mateo de Mar, named "Paul von Blart" by code, destroyed the Upstairs Empire with one treaty that would release its territory and cede it to the agenda.
Modern History
Founded in April 15, 2022 as the Pre-Galactic Republic, the Republic was just a Facebook Messenger micronation with no legislative or judicial branch. There were only military generals and practicing "Jedi" amongst the population, and an executive branch with no departments. This lonely, desolate era would continue until the end of the High Republic. When the Modern Galactic Republic came into play, the Senate was founded along with an official Army group chat. This era lasted so long that the Republic almost became defunct. Later, the Chancellor would reform the entire Republic into the Established Galactic Empire. 8 Imperial eras such as the Federative Empire of Rækhlendia, the Ausreichilec Empire and the Sacred Federative Roman Empire or the McGill reign, along with 3 Sith democratic eras later, the Republic would become the Coruscant Republic.
The Coruscant Republic oversaw messy elections and mainly incompetent leaders. The first Supreme President to be elected was the former heir to the throne, Crown Prince Adrien I of McGill, named Cosinga Palpatine by the Star Wars-like traditions of Sith adopted by the Republic. He proved himself the most inactive and irresponsible leader. Mateo de Mar, as acting head of cabinet, deposed Adrien and held a snap election which deemed a man called Herr Shadoww, named Darth Ertharossa, the second Supreme President. He was the most fruitful and contributive leader according to Mateo de Mar himself. Shadoww's leadership ended with his disappearance from Discord.
The third and last Supreme President to be elected was Salads. His term was marked by incredibly risky decisions which were fortunately overturned by Mateo de Mar, as acting head of cabinet. Salads played a major role in the return to imperial monarchism, as he was made and formally inaugurated Emperor of the Hohenstaufen Union. Nothing major changed in the reign of Salads, as he was always constantly on the brink of making horrifying decisions, such as legalizing certain crimes. Soon Mateo de Mar stopped taking kindly to the "stupidity" and "darkness" of Salads' reign and ousted him from the throne and turned the nation into the Weimar Union.
The Abandonment
In the time of the Weimar Union, Lucas of Satoshi said that the then-Coruscant was the only micronation he knew from the Philippines, though it kept "changing agendas every week." Mateo de Mar was "withdrawn" from his school where he was allegedly socially bullied, or so he thought. It happened on Discord when he pursued legal action against his bullies. He showed them screenshots of the complaint-affidavit for defamation, which was in his eyes, a terrible move as it was used against him. After a major school drama the Emperor was forced by his mother to delete the Discord and his own account.
He attempted to create a new Discord and "capture" the lost server after having passed ownership to Lucas. However his classmates once again interrupted this mission, by reporting to their teacher. She then informed the parents of the Mateo, despite talk of withdrawal and complete cut of contact, which lead to an argument that left Mateo struck on the left arm.
He had lost everything once again. The first war was lost. After some time, the situation cooled over and he began rebuilding from the ground up. The Weimar Union became the Hanseatic Imperial Union shortly after. He certainly would not forget about his classmates and what they had done. He created a new email and a new YouTube account in 2024 and eventually took on a final agenda that was more based on his home country, called the Empire of the East Indies. Not too long he would regain Discord and enter a new school, making sure that this time he wouldn't indulge any of his new schoolmates in order to avoid collapse.
Politics, customs and governance
The Empire is traditionalist and opposes all K-Pop and anime that exists. It especially opposes vast and extreme woke ideals. All beliefs, customs, cultures and races are equally welcome with open arms and tolerated without issue.
Judiciary
The 8th article of the current constitution describes the workings of justice and the Aulic Court: "The State constitutes for the Judicial branch an Aulic Court responsible for the protection and enforcement of this Constitution, and all procedures, pleadings and practice in every court constituted after the ratification of this Constitution."
Section A of this article ensures that none are truly above the law: "The Emperador Suprema, any public official, and members of the Aulic Court or local courts itself can be tried for any violation of this Constitution or abridgement of the rights provided by the Constitution, or any violation of codes and statutes created after the ratification of this Constitution."
Section B constitutes an ombudsman: "An ombudsman’s office shall be specially constituted for civil complaints against any public official, group or corporation. Their prime duty is protecting the people against injustice."
Section C further protects the fundamental rights of the people and creates new terms: "The writs of habeas corpus, mandamus, amparo and the latter shall under no circumstance be suspended or abolished unless the State faces seditionis nulla causa, rebellio ad carpe potestatem, machinantur ut evertat, rebellio malitiose or invasion. The fundamental rights of the People and the natural proceedings of law are to be preserved and protected at all costs; this is inviolable."
Legislative
The 7th article of the current constitution explains the functions of Parliament: "The State constitutes for the Legislative branch, an Imperial Parliament which shall have two houses, the Assembly of Lords and Representatives. All motions and bills shall be made only by an elected delegation and reviewed by a monthly-changing committee which will vote upon this proposal in order to become law. This can be vetoed by the Emperador Suprema. Both Assemblies shall convene every 2 days and their delegates are elected to a term of 3 weeks. Each delegate can serve 5 terms."
Section A of this article states: "The State constitutes a Chair for these houses who shall be appointed to a term of 2 months. Each Chair can serve up to 2 terms."
Section B holds firm in the necessary separation of legislation and religion: "The State in the business of governance and politics shall under no circumstance allow the enforcement of religious laws, agendas or penalties upon the People."
Section C adds to the powers of the prime figures in the Executive branch: "The Emperador Suprema and Executive Commissar hold all rights to dissolve the Parliament for emergency authority."
Section D and its respective subsections restore the old constituent states which existed during the Ausreich reign but had their crowns either merged or abolished in the McGill reign: "The Assembly of Lords shall be seated by the following;
The Princes of Fegelein, Thussel, Trion, Gallaham, Aren, Nethel, Kega, Lombardon, Barenia and Otrott, who shall make up the Electoral College which shall be responsible for the final majority vote upon the bimonthly electoral nominees, especially the Executive Commissar.
The Lords of Samea, Lothairingia, Tolea and Alhalt,
The Dukes of Fahringia, Daria, and Itea,
The Kings of Essen, Arata, Hammonden and Trummer,
The Counts of Ardev, Urgerin, Karol, Olar and Graiatine,
The Grand Dukes of Wissenland and Turmhalt,
The Baron of Emaor."
Executive
The whole of the 9th article of the current constitution, along with its sections and subsections, establish the basic executive departments and additionally, the system of interior governance:
"The State constitutes for the Executive branch the Roundtable and the Office of the Emperor which may be seated by the following: The Emperador Suprema, the Marshals of Land and Air, the Fleet Admiral, the Star Admiral, the Executive Commissar, the Commissars of Defense, Interior, Justice, Finance, Development, Education, Health, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and Culture, and any constituent who has such privileges to have the right of seat.
The Office of the Emperor shall be seated by no other persons except the Emperador Suprema, any regent appointed by the Emperador, or elected substitutes.
The Executive Commissar shall serve as the second-in-command of the Roundtable and the director of the Imperial Parliament and the whole legislative branch. They shall be elected to a term of 2 months. Should the Emperor die, vanish or resign and have no heir before him, then the State shall under no circumstance exist under an interregnum but instead have the Executive Commissar be made acting Emperor.
The Commissariat of Defense shall serve as the executive office of the defence of the country.
The Commissariat of the Interior shall serve as the executive office of urban and civil management.
Metropolitan Offices shall be constituted for the coordination and management of galaxies, systems whether star or planetary, planets and their hemispheres.
Sectors shall consist of galaxies.
A Lord-mayor shall be constituted and elected to a term of 2 months.
In other cases a Delegate of the Assembly of Lords may represent a sector and base their constituency upon that sector if any opportunity is found to do so.
These sectors shall be entitled to government stations, military headquarters, specialised courts, civil task forces and emergency services.
Subsectors shall consist of systems.
A Governor shall be constituted and elected to a term of 3 weeks.
In other cases a Delegate of the Assembly of Representatives may represent a subsector.
These subsectors shall be entitled to a court, a civil task force and emergency services.
Units shall consist of planets and other such objects of outer space.
A Director shall be constituted and elected to a term of 3 weeks.
These units shall be entitled to a court, a civil task force and emergency services.
Subdivisions shall consist of the hemispheres of planets and smaller space objects.
A Chief Officer shall be constituted and elected to a term of 3 weeks.
These subdivisions shall be entitled to a court, a civil task force and emergency services.
The Commissariat of Justice shall serve as the executive office of the enforcement of penal, civil and Constitutional law.
A Constabulary shall be constituted for the enforcement of penal law.
A Civil Task Force shall be constituted for the enforcement of civil law.
An Executive Supervisor shall be constituted for the enforcement of Constitutional law.
An Imperial Investigation Bureau shall be constituted for the purpose of extreme penal offences.
An Imperial Mobile Task Force shall be constituted as the special armed unit of the Bureau.
The Commissariat of Finance shall serve as the executive office for the management of the national and political economy of the State.
The Commissariat of Development shall serve as the executive office for the management of urban development and government projects.
The Commissariat of Education shall serve as the executive office for the management of all academics and education.
The Commissariat of Health shall serve as the executive office for the management of all healthcare and medical welfare.
The Commissariat of Foreign Affairs shall serve as the executive office for the management of all international affairs.
An Embassy shall be constituted in any allied entity for the purpose of travel and citizenship.
An Ambassador shall be constituted for each of these Embassies.
The Commissariat of Agriculture shall serve as the executive office for the management of all general rations, resources, and harvest.
The Commissariat of Culture shall serve as the executive office for the management of cultural affairs and preservation of traditions and local heritage."

The Empire's official currency is the Zaragozo, backed by the reserve of the Empire, which is in Philippine peso.
Culture
The Empire's culture is novelty Filipino music and story building. It preserves old outdoor games and great internet memes. Cuisine is mainly Japanese ramen from a specific restaurant in the Philippines and corned beef.
