Mateo de Mar born Mateo Cassiel Fernandez is the current Emperador Suprema of Nova Zaragoza, the thirteenth empire of Galactica. He created Galactica on April of 2022 as a project where his dog would rule and he would serve as a prime minister and translator. The nation has been a democracy six times and a monarchy for thirteen times. He is known for "changing the name and flag of his micronation every week" and creating entire full-fledged constitutions for Galactica.
Aside from micronationalism, he owns two electric guitars and fronts the up-and-coming thrash metal band Mortuary.
Career
From 2021 to 2022 he served as the Divine Minister of the Mansion Empire, carrying out necessary decisions and making all the plans in Emperor Otochoy's stead. He instigated the split of the Mansion Empire which created the Downstairs Kingdom in favor of Ex-Princess Tatandra. When he left the Mansion Empire, he became Chancellor of his Pre-galactic Republic, and the Downstairs Kingdom was made into a vassal. He declared war on the Mansion Empire which failed inevitably.
As the Republic grew, so did the complexity of the system of governance grow under his careful rule. Eventually he proclaimed the Established Galactic Empire which held claims to vast territories deemed unrealistic by some. 8 different monarchies later and democracy returned to Galactica. He oversaw the presidencies of three incredibly distinct and unique fellows. He calls it a mix of good and bad, with the 2nd president, once known as "Darth Ertharossa" being the most valuable and helpful toward the people. The 3rd and last president, Salads was offered the throne when Mateo transitioned the government back into an imperial monarchy and he accepted. Salads was Emperor of the Hohenstaufen and Weimar Unions until his deposition for criminal misconduct.
As the Weimar Union grew, Mateo fell, as a school drama worsened and created serious conflicts. Eventually he lost his first Discord account. After attempting to create an alternate account, which is confirmed to be floating around as of 2024, he was thwarted by none other than Salads and reported to his teacher despite talk of withdrawal and cutting off contact. The teacher went with reaching out to the parents anyway and it destroyed everything. Surprisingly enough, no request was made to dissolve Galactica. Not even from his mother, who was infuriated to a point of no return.
Nearly a year after finally withdrawing, Mateo regained access to Facebook and the first thing he did was rearrange Galactica into the Empire of the East Indies, more locally based and heavily inspired by the personal empire of Charles V. Soon he returned to Discord and the rest of the internet as a whole.
Today he has proclaimed the 13th monarchy, the Empire of Nova Zaragoza. The name came from the Treaty of Zaragoza which was a major part in the discovery of the Philippines.
