The Land of Potato is a self-proclaimed sovereign state that is not recognized by any country or organization as an independent country. It was declared an independent state after the issuing of the "Declaration of Independence from MAMS", which was written by Isaiah Deegan as a school assignment where he and some partners had to make a declaration of independence from the school, as they were at the time learning about the American Declaration of Independence in their Social Studies class. Isaiah, seeing this document he made for a school assignment as an opportunity, decided to use it as an actual official declaration of independence from the United States of America. He as such made a new country simply called Potato. He subsequently made a constitution and established a military regime under a national militia called the Sons of Free Potato, which was based on the Sons of Liberty, another group he had learned about in his Social Studies class. He would build an ideology for his new country called Potatoism, which used the ideas talked about in the Declaration of Independence and past essays he wrote in school as building blocks for it. The constitution would have all these ideas built into the governmental structure, and poems and songs he made in school would be used as patriotic songs, with most of them involving potatoes, as Isaiah loved potatoes, which was why he called his country "Potato". Potato's culture is very much built around Potatoism and the revolutionary fever that came out of the Sons of Liberty organization. The nation's culture also is built around what Isaiah experienced in school. Potato today now searches for opportunities to assert its independence and get recognized as a sovereign state.
Etymology
The Land of Potato got its name because Isaiah's favorite food is the potato. He felt potatoes were the best thing in the world as they were able to provide someone with many kinds of foods, and he wanted his country to provide people with everything they needed.
History
Pre-History
The location where Potato now is used to be a part of the British Empire as the Province of Pennsylvania, which was established in 1681. The American Revolutionary War, however, saw Pennsylvania secede from the empire, though the location where Potato would be founded would remain a part of the British Empire until the end of the war in 1783, which saw the United States double in size. David Mead would later establish the town of Meadville in 1788, which would contain the land that now makes up Potato. A house would built on the land somewhere between 1901 and 1925. Isaiah would be born in 2006. His family would move to Meadville in 2009.
Town of City Bee (2013-2019)
On December 25, 2013, Isaiah would get a game called Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Christmas, and he would establish the Town of City Bee. He would rule as Mayor of the town. He would rule with total power and enjoyed ruling. This town would be a part of the United States of America and would be the first time he ever had an experience with ruling something.
Town of Morrison (2019-2020)
On March 29, 2019, Isaiah would rename his town to the Town of Morrison. At this point, he did not want to rule the town anymore, so he made his cat Kira Mayor. The town at this point was neglected, and Isaiah was moving on to new things. One day he learned in 8th grade about the American Declaration of Independence and got to make his own Declaration of Independence at the school he was at. He made one with some partners and saw this as a chance to make a new country, though his partners did not partake in this idea, as this was a personal idea kept only to Isaiah.
Potato Revolution
The Potato Revolution began on January 15, 2020, at 1:22 PM (EST). This created the Land of Potato. The declaration was not very well written as it contained numerous spelling and grammatical errors, and sometimes things were written in the wrong sections of the document, like having the statement, "We should have the rights to fight the teachers" in the section called "Resolution of Independence" instead of the section called "Declaration of Rights". This was a product of Isaiah's partners, but he did not for some reason decide to edit to make it better. This goes to show how the revolution was very much rushed and perhaps not well thought out. Regardless, the revolution/coup was successful and Kira was removed from power, and the Land of Potato was established.
Land of Potato (2020-Present)
The Land of Potato, once established, had a constitution adopted on January 20, 2020. This established a military regime under the Sons of Free Potato, which was a militia that copied the Sons of Liberty. Meetings were intended to be held at a Liberty Pole, and the party had immense power. A flag was adopted, and an anthem would be adopted on February 19, 2020.

Anthem
The anthem of Potato is "Tell Me Where The Flowers Are", which was adopted on February 19, 2020. It is to the tune of "Ode To Joy", which was previously the anthem of City Bee from September 17, 2019 to January 16, 2020. The anthem is just the basic tune of the song played once. The lyrics are sung once to this tune. The lyrics are as such:

Culture
Literature
The nation of Potato has many short essays and stories written in the months before Morrison collapsed due to the military coup that created Potato, and numerous essays have been written since independence. The primary literary writer has been Potato's founder Isaiah Deegan, who has been an amateur political essayist for quite some time, with him writing an essay defending the Sons of Liberty as not being a terrorist group, writing another one stating that protesting was important to the United States and the world at large, and a short story written in collaboration with three other people, including his sister, that was a remake of Edgar Allen Poe's the Telltale Heart.
Geography
Potato is primarily a small sliver of land located somewhat in the woods and is covered in leaves and trees and largely nothing else. The sliver is approximately 76 feet by 60 feet, or 4,560 square feet, according to official measurements. Some old rusted metal barrels lay near a tree on the eastern border with the United States and are used as fortifications. This structure is called the City Bee Barricades.
