The Autonomous Democracy of Lytpatri (Irisen: Aydemocra o'Lytpatri), commonly known as Lytpatri, is a micronation claiming 5200 square kilometers on the Moon (Tycho I). Lytpatri is a direct democracy, following a libertarian socialist / anarchist model of government.
Etymology
Lyt meaning light, patri meaning country. The name means Light Country in Irisen.
History
Provisional State of Lytpatri
The Provisional State of Lytpatri was founded on 19 June 2023 after Iris began creating the conlang of Irisen. The Provisional State conducted the first public declarations, communications, and appearances of Lytpatri. This state was meant to serve as a transitionary period while the Constitution of the Democratic State of Lytpatri was being formed.
Democratic State of Lytpatri
The Democratic State of Lytpatri was founded on 25 June 2023 after the dissolution of the Provisional Government. Ruler Iris Nox of the Provisional Government stepped down from their authoritarian position, and instead became Head of the Council, formalizing the transition to a democratic system of governance. Lytpatri then declared independence from the United States of America.
Constitution Crisis of Lytpatri
Head of the Council and Pope of Lytism Iris began having doubts about their creation of a democratic constitution, and formed the militant Light of God Group in an attempt to secure full theocratic and dictatorial power. The Light of God Group took temporary control of the government, until the Pope decided democracy was in fact the best system, and reestablished the Democratic State.
An hour after that decision, the Pope turned away from democracy again, and as the sole member of the Council abolished the Constitution and Government, forming the Holy Sovereignty of Lytpatri.
Holy Sovereignty of Lytpatri
Sovereign Iris formed the Holy Sovereignty on 26 June 2023. They officially declared the Tycho crater as being territory of Lytpatri Tycho I and as being a secondary capital, and they renamed the Earth capitol to Tycho II, on 28 June 2023.
Direct Democracy
Iris abdicated from their place of power, and formed the Autonomous Democracy. They opened the country up to new members for the first time.
Politics and Government
The people are the government, as Lytpatri is a direct democracy. The people decide on all issues, and then the Overseer, who may be elected or taken out of office whenever people may wish, enacts these changes, without having any actual political power in voting.
The Constitution as of 2 July 2023
- Behold, the former Sovereign of the Holy Sovereignty has decided to relinquish their powers as supreme authority, and henceforth has decided to reform the Sovereignty into the Autonomous Democracy of Lytpatri. The sun of Democracy, of Freedom, is rising, dawning- the dawn has come, the day too shall come. The Autonomous Democracy of Lytpatri is founded upon these principles: the absolute equality of all living animals, the freedom to be who you are, and the rights to a happy and fulfilling existence. We are a state with a full direct democratic system, a system in which every decision is decided upon by popular vote- every position filled, everything done, is the will of the people. Nothing can exist without popular will. We will all be equal, unless the popular will wishes to abolish equality. Never again shall the chains of a non-democratic system be placed upon us, unless we desire to not have our freedom. Whatever happens is the desire of the populace, our power is a collective power.
- The Autonomous Democracy of Lytpatri, henceforth until any popular dissolution, will be a democracy. We will convene in councils whenever a national issue is presented, and any citizen may request a meeting of the council. The government is the people. The council will be a completely equal meeting, no person will have more authority than another within the council meetings. In these council meetings, there will be general topics, and then any member may present an idea or topic, if desired. There will then be voting based upon decisions on these issues, and votes may be cast either out loud, or by form of poll- whatever a person or the collective may wish to be done.
- The Overseer shall be the person who moderates the online community, and who has editing access to the documents of the nation, and who serves as the representative of the nation. However, the Overseer loses some powers of the other citizens- the Overseer may not vote, unless there is an issue of a tie, and the Overseer may not go against the will of the people.
- The first Overseer shall be Iris Nox, for they founded the nation, and they shall be Overseer until either abdication or the people wish to replace them.
Foreign Relations
Lytpatri recognizes all U.N. nations, as well as all nations struggling for independence and all micronations.
Citizenship
All animals, from humans to cats to fish to ants, are allowed citizenship within the country.
Culture
Lytpatri has a unique language and plenty of holidays. Culture is very lioberating, stressing uniqueness and freedom.
Visual Art
Lytpatri visual art is in digital and physical forms, and in a variety of different styles. Lytpatriperns are encouraged to express themselves however they wish.
Music
Lytpatri music is not a single style of music, as Lytpatriperns are encouraged to express themselves however they wish.
Literature
Lytpatri literature is typically written in either Irisen or English.
Pride
LGBTQ+ (LSTTC+) identities are celebrated during Mont o'Prid, a month long holiday.
Language
Irisen and English are the official languages of Lytpatri, and Spanish, French, Latin, and German are all national languages of the country.
Religion
There is no official religion of Lytpatri. The Church of Lytism is a religion established in Lytpatri.
