The Republic of Zyland (Kingdom of Zyland after March 5) was where the Hodinian story started. Zyland was established on December 17, 2013, as the Republic of Zylandek, though the name was changed within a few days. Dylan Emborough was the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th President of Zyland, and then the King after March 5.
Around December 15, 2013, Dylan Emborough signed a contract of mutual support and trade with the future leader of the ROS and the future rebel leader of Karan. On the 17th, Dylan began thinking about how nations signed treaties with each other, and began a look on the Internet concerning that topic. He stumbled across micronationalism, and after a really long though of 5 seconds, decided that he would make one. He named it the Republic of Zylandek, and made himself president. By the turn of the year, it had a population of 3. It held its second election on January 2. Dylan won. Not much happened in the next year except the declaration of a Constitution bring memorized by Dylan and a population boom. The third election was February 2. Dylan won, however just marginally against the future leader of the ROS. The population stretched up to 16, an all-time high until 2016, where the population reached 17 and then slipped down rapidly. On March 2, the fourth election took place. Dylan won once more, and yet again just barely, against two candidates this time. His declining support was due to his ambitions to turn Zyland into a monarchy. He did this on March 5. Many citizens were unhappy with this, and eventually the population became inactive in protest to this. On March 13, two particularly unhappy citizens, one being a candidate just barely defeated by Dylan in the March 2014 Elections, decided to rebel. These two rebel groups were called Seefor and Karan. Karan tried to make its own alphabet to fool Zyland, but it was eventually scrapped. There were also some plans by the two rebels groups to communicate using Korean, as both of them had extremely strong Korean influences. There was one large-scale battle won by the Zylandian government known as the Battle of Fort Moor, which at the time was the largest battle in history until the Battle of Fort Tile. There were also many small-scale battles. The war ended on June 1, 2014. Zyland was renamed the Kingdom of Centem soon after, which would very shortly after turn into the Centish Empire.
