The Minister of Asian and Oceanian Affairs is the head of the Ministry of Asian and Oceanian Affairs, responsible for outreach to micronations in the region, and hosting auxiliary sessions within the Cupertino Alliance parliament.
History
The concept of Asian outreach within the Cupertino Alliance originates to late February during the 5th Session, when the Divisions Act was proposed. The proposal passed unanimously on 1 March 2020, establishing the Division of Asian Affairs.[1][2]
The position of Minister of Asian Affairs was first proposed during the 69 Hour Session under the Ministers Act. The act was passed on 17 March around the conclusion of the session.[3][4]
Chairman Jayden Lycon appointed Yai Khadpo, a delegate from the Federation of Orientia as the first Minister of Asian Affairs on 22 March. A ministerial seal was created shortly thereafter.[5] The Ministers Act was later amended by the Cupertino Alliance Charter, which granted further powers to the ministry.[6]
In light of membership applications from the Oceania region, the position was renamed to Minister of Asian and Oceanian Affairs, adding outreach to Oceanian and Australian micronations to the ministerial mandate.[7][8]
The newly renamed role was soon upgraded further, being granted the ability to hold auxiliary sessions tailored specially for the Asian and Oceanian sector.[8][9] A deputy ministerial role was created later in September to assist the minister, with the inaugural holder being Daniel Hamilton.
