The Gishabrun Armed Forces was the national battle and defense force of the Tsarist Empire of Gishabrun. It was also responsible for the formal conquest of new Gishabruni land claims.

History

The Armed Forces were created in May 2010 to combat the Annina Kravatian troops during the Furnace War. The army was victorious in that war, and conquered the Principality of Annina Kravat. The army then fell into inactivity, as there were no other war, and was only kept as an annexing force for new land claims. This changed, however, on the 20th July, 2010, when the Armed Forces participated in the Bench War. They won this war as well, and conquered the Unnamed Empire. On the 1st of August, 2010, HIM Tsar Kuri I created the Navy, and used it to conquer various pieces of land thereafter.

Upon the signing of the Bench War Treaty on the 17th of September, 2010, Emperor Cyril I of Maccrage (previously of the Unnamed Empire) was appointed the General (later Colonel-General) of the Gishabruni Army. Under his leadership, the Army reformed its ranking system, organised training sessions, and designed an official uniform.

In February of 2011, senior military officials met in Ultramaar, Maccrage, to discuss and draft regulations for Gishabruni military engagements. This culminated in the Elite Duma's approval of the Ultramaar Convention on February 7. The Ultramaar convention defined the rules of engagement for the Gishabrun Armed Forces, including declarations of war, rights of civilians and prisoners of war, protocols for negotiations with enemy forces, terms of surrender, and provisions for the appointment of volunteer medics. Since the Gishabrun Armed Forces did not participate in any war since then, practically the Ultramaar Convention was never used.

In May of 2011, the Gishabrun Imperial Guard (aka the Maroon Guard), previously under the authority of the LOB, was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Armed Forces.

In early 2012, several Gishabruni overseas citizens in Slovakia and later in the Autonomous Republic of Prievidzia engaged in several defensive wars and skirmishes against other forces. These actions were not sanctioned by the Elite Duma and the citizens involved were not members of the Armed Forces. On May 19th, 2012, Gishabruni civilian forces in Prievidzia participated in the North Izkan War in defense of Slevania, which resulted in a Slevanian victory on June 8th. It is not known whether the terms of the Ultramaar Convention were adhered to in this conflict.

The Gishabrun Armed Forces were dissolved on July 22nd, 2012, upon the Empire's absorption into the Free State of Renasia as Gishabrun SAR.

Army

The Gishabruni Army was the most active of the divisions of the Armed Forces. It was used in the Furnace War and the Bench War, as well as for scouting out and claiming new land for the Empire.

The following are the ranks of soldiers in the Gishabruni Army. Participation in battles for the Gishabrun Imperial Guard was counted toward the battle count required for these ranks.

  • Sergeant-Major: Participated in 15 battles.
  • Sergeant First Class: Participated in 12 battles.
  • Sergeant: Participated in 10 battles.
  • Corporal First Class: Participated in 7 battles.
  • Corporal: Participated in 4 battles.
  • Private First Class: Participated in 2 battles.
  • Private: Participated in 1 battle.
  • Militia: Just induced.

Officers in the Gishabruni Army were ranked as follows:

  • Colonel-General: The leader of the Gishabruni Army, this was HEE Emperor-Marquis Cyril I.
  • Major-General
  • Captain-General
  • Colonel
  • Major
  • Captain
  • Lieutenant
  • Ensign: Officer in training.

The official uniform of the Gishabruni Army was a green shirt, with optional gold and blue epaulettes for officers that indicate their rank.

Navy

The Imperial Navy of Gishabrun was the Empire's water-based military force, which usually launched from foreign areas or from the port in Outpost Krai. It was used primarily to scout out and claim new land for the Empire, especially islands and other areas accessible only by water. The Imperial Navy's fleet consisted of the HIMS Shmel, an inflatable rowboat kept in Kravat Oblast, and before late 2011 the HIMS Clarksoon, a canoe kept in The Stig Oblast.

There were four ranks in the Imperial Navy, as follows:

  • Captain: The leader of the Navy. This was always HIM Tsar Kuri I.
  • Lesser Captain: The leaders of the oblastian divisions of the Navy.
  • Senior Sailor: Soldiers with participation in at least one engagement.
  • Recruits: Soldiers with little or no experience.
