The LOB (full name: Logocratic Organisation for Security) was the national intelligence and security agency of the Tsarist Empire of Gishabrun. The LOB was mainly involved with assigning meritocratic ratings to Gishabruni citizens, researching desirable candidates for Gishabruni citizenship and, under its security wing known as the "Gishabrun Imperial Guard", defended government officials from physical attacks.
Name
The acronym LOB originates from the original Russian name of the organisation, Логократическая Организация Безопасности. This name, which means Logocratic Organisation for Security, was chosen to reflect the LOB's dual focus on gathering information (words) and security.
History
The LOB was founded by HIM Tsar Kuri I on 16 August 2010, and appointed TRH Sovetus as its Head LOBster (leader). On December 6th, the LOB was expanded with the creation of a Police Force to enforce Gishabruni laws, whose first leader was TRH Potatoman.
With the Elite Duma's passing of the Treason Act on January 27th, 2011, it became necessary for the Police Force to spend most of its effort in protecting members of the Gishabruni government from physical attacks and to enforce the penalties found in the Treason Act. To this end, it was renamed the Gishabrun Imperial Guard (GIG), and was nicknamed the Maroon Guard - after one of Gishabrun's national colours. Its leader during this time was TRH Billy Bob.
Early 2011 was an era of peak activity for the LOB, under the leadership of Head LOBster HEE Grand Duke Sovetus I. During this time, the LOB acquired a website, was organised into three (and later four) offices apart from the GIG, and began to assign and keep track of Gishabruni citizens' meritocratic ratings. HEE Grand Duke Sovetus I also implemented a separate meritocratic rating system exclusively for LOB members, as well as a payment model in Gishabruni Brun.
On 5 February, 2011, TH Sam was appointed the leader of the GIG, and the Culture Office of the LOB was created. The new constitution of March 30th, 2011, guaranteed the authority of the GIG over law enforcement in the Empire. In May of 2011, the GIG was transferred to the authority of the Gishabrun Armed Forces.
The LOB's offices and missions subsequently fell into inactivity, with the LOB engaging only in meritocratic ratings and expeditions to explore areas for potential land claims. The LOB was dissolved on July 22nd, 2012, upon the Empire's absorption into the Free State of Renasia as Gishabrun SAR.
Organisation
The LOB consisted of three (later four) official offices, with the unofficial office being the Gishabrun Imperial Guard (see below) until May of 2011. Each office had a head that reported directly to the Head LOBster. LOB members could belong to a maximum of two official offices simultaneously, in addition to membership in the GIG.
Each office head was responsible for creating missions for its members, the successful completion of which resulted in a reward of LOB points. LOB points could be redeemed for Brun, or could be converted into awards, which entitled the recipient to become the head of their department. Each LOB point was redeemable for 0.1 Brun (1 Gil).
The list of official LOB offices is as follows:
- Main Operations: Domestic and foreign intelligence, as well as rating Gishabruni citizens via the Gishabruni Rating Committee
- Recruitment and Propaganda: Convincing people to become Gishabruni citizens
- Research and Technology: Scouting out potential land claims and military technology research
- Culture (from 5 February 2011): Developing Gishabruni cultural elements
Gishabrun Imperial Guard
The Gishabrun Imperial Guard, colloquially known as the Maroon Guard, was the police and protection force of Gishabrun. It was responsible for enforcing Gishabruni laws, particularly the Treason Act (2011) that required Gishabruni government officials to be protected from physical attacks. Members of the GIG were divided into the following divisions:
- Peacekeeping
- Assault
- Reconnaissance
In May of 2011, the GIG was transferred to the authority of the Gishabrun Armed Forces.
