Cormorant Krai was a krai of the Tsarist Empire of Gishabrun.
Etymology
The name "Cormorant" refers to the cormorant birds found natively on the islands of the krai.
History
On 2 August 2010, while on a naval expedition, HIM Tsar Kuri I captured two nearby islands in a lake as two krais: Cormorant Krai and Thorn Krai. On 14 August 2010, the Council decided to merge the two krais into one, named Cormorant Krai. Cormorant Krai was finally returned to Canadian sovereignty when Gishabrun relinquished claims on distant krais, on 6 December 2010.
Geography and climate
The climate of what was Cormorant Krai is continental (but modified by the lake with the Lake Effect), meaning it has an average of 9.5 degrees Celsius, with 133.1 cm of snowfall each winter and 834 mm of precipitation year-round. Cormorant Krai consisted of two islands in a freshwater lake. Cormorant Krai contained Cormorant National Park, and was surrounded by Canada on all sides.
