Protectorates of Græcia
The protectorates of Græcia (Hellenic: Προτεκτοράτα, Protektoráta; sing. Προτεκτοράτον, Protektoráton; Neoclassical Latin: PRŌTECTORĀTA; sing. PRŌTECTORĀTVM; South Ruthenian: Протєктораті, Protektorati; sing. Протєкторатъ, Protektoratě; Græcian: 𐌞𐌖𐌑𐌖𐌂 𐌉𐌇𐌄𐌌, MEHI CYŚYU; sing. 𐌞𐌖𐌑𐌖𐌂 𐌇𐌄𐌌, MEH CYŚYU) are entities that operate under Græcian observation.
History
The first protectorate of Græcia was established on 14 March 2023 AD, when the micronation decided to step in and defend Poseidonia, an inactive micronation and former member of the League of Hellenistic Micronations, currently an observer. Each of the protectorates operates under different frameworks, but essentially in a similar fashion. The protector in each case is the governor of Græcia, currently Quintus De Vitaliis.

Poseidonia
The protectorate of Poseidonia was established on 14 March 2023 AD, becoming the first protectorate to be formed according to the agreement voted by the Synod of the League of Hellenistic Micronations. The micronation is inactive since 2019 and because of its long inactivity, it lost its membership status at the League, among other micronations, and became an observer. The protectorate was established, in order to defend the inactive micronation from danger, especially of foreign origin. Per the agreed upon legal framework, if the legal leader doesn't show up until 14 March 2024 AD, Græcia has every right to claim the micronation and convert it into an administrative division; otherwise, in the event of the legal leader's return, Græcia is obliged to comply and hand over power immediately. Following this strategic move, the Empire of Imvrassia and Imperium Aquilae co-signed an agreement on 21 March, establishing a co-protectorate over the inactive Empire of Ovrestlia.
As predicted, the leadership of Poseidonia did not return within the given ultimatum and thus, on 14 March 2024 AD, Poseidonia became the first protectorate to be absorbed by Græcia. It was re-established as Makronisos.
Saint George
The protectorate of Saint George was established on 21 April 2023, becoming the second protectorate to be formed by Græcia according to the agreement voted by the Synod of the League of Hellenistic Micronations and the third in total. The micronation is inactive since 7 January 2022, the last time Græcia received a message from Prince Dean and because of the prolonged silence, it lost its membership status at the League, among other micronations, and became an observer, much like Poseidonia. The protectorate was established, in order to defend the inactive micronation from danger, especially of foreign origin. Per the agreed upon legal framework, if the legal leader doesn't show up until 21 April 2024 AD, Græcia has every right to claim the micronation and convert it into an administrative division; otherwise, in the event of the legal leader's return, Græcia is obliged to comply and hand over power immediately. Saint George is the third protectorate to ever be established by Græcia, after Poseidonia, and Lesia and Karduna.
Saint George became the second protectorate to be absorbed by Græcia on 21 April 2024 AD, following Poseidonia. It was re-established as Hagios Georgios.
Kastorliya
The protectorate of Kastorliya was established on 1 September 2023 AD, following the signing of the Simeonovden Accord[1] between the governor of Græcia and the president of Lesia and Karduna. The territory is a puppet-state, controlled by Lesia and Karduna. Because there was already a protectorate for Lesia and Karduna at the time of Kastorliya's establishment, the two sides decided to include it as a separate protectorate, yet considered a Lesokardunan entity. Much like Lesia and Karduna, Kastorliya was to remain under Græcian protection indefinitely, until the former got back on its feet as a state, in order to be able to fully support itself first, and the latter secondarily. On 21 April 2024 AD, it was determined that both protectorates had to undergo an extension, until 21 October of the same year.
Per the latest agreement, on 21 October 2024 AD, the Protectorate of Kastorliya was dissolved and incorporated to Lesia and Karduna.
Lesia and Karduna
The protectorate of Lesia and Karduna was established on 2 April 2023 AD, following an agreement[2] between the governor of Græcia and the president of Lesia and Karduna. It was the second protectorate to ever be established by Græcia. The minimum duration of the protectorate was set to be until Wednesday 17 May 2023 AD (45 days), when the future of Lesia and Karduna would be decided by both of the signatory parties. Among other things, the initial agreement had also taken care of the status of the protected micronation in case its leader is absent, no matter how long. Specifically:
- If the president of Lesia and Karduna became incapacitated for a short period, he would be temporarily replaced by the Vice President.
- For an indefinite period, Lesia and Karduna would be given one year of grace, before becoming integrated by Græcia, per LHM laws, unless of course the president came back.
- If Lesia and Karduna became formally disestablished or abandoned forever beyond doubt, it would immediately become an administrative division of Græcia.
The two leaders had agreed to establish weekly communications regarding the situation within Lesia and Karduna. Græcia would not interfere in any way, effectively granting LK autonomy. Additionally, Lesia and Karduna could regain its independence, only through an official request: failure to comply with this term would result into the reduction of the protectorate's autonomy.
On 18 April 2023 AD, Simeon Nikolov, the legal leader of Lesia and Karduna, submitted a formal request to the Governor of Græcia, in which it was stated that it was in LK's best interest to pursue independence. After thorough examination of the agreement between the two sides, Quintus De Vitaliis granted Lesia and Karduna its independence on the same day, effectively disestablishing the protectorate and rendering the aforementioned agreement void, which only lasted for 16 days.
The protectorate was re-established on 9 August, with the same terms as before, although with a reduced minimum duration; this time, 21 days. On 30 August 2023, the signatory parties discussed the future of Lesia and Karduna and how Græcia will handle things. Until then, the protectorate shared the same levels of autonomy as before. The two sides decided to prolong the protectorate status indefinitely, until Lesia and Karduna is ready to form the new parliament. This was sealed by the signing of the Simeonovden Accord on 1 September 2023 AD. On 21 April 2024 AD, the signatory parties decided to bilaterally extend Lesia and Karduna's status until 21 October of the same year.
Per the latest agreement, on 21 October 2024 AD, the Protectorate of Lesia and Karduna was disestablished. Following the fusion with the also defunct protectorate of Kastorliya, Lesia and Karduna was subsequently dissolved and refounded as Rhomalia, now a member-state of the Union of Senland.
