Land Operations Urabbaparcensia (LOU), formerly Urabba Parks Land Service (UPLS), is a branch group of the Urabbaparcensian Defence Service that defends the interests of Australia and its allies by way of Landcare operations, such as revegetation, pest management and constructing drainage works. The UPLS includes the Urabbaparcensian Army, the Urabba Parks Ranger Service and affiliated private services, and is part of the Urabbaparcensia's wider Operations Network.

Role

Land Operations Urabbaparcensia is designated to provide Landcare within Urabba Parks and in Australia generally. Landcare activities include eradicating or exterminating animal pests from the land, eradicating, exterminating or destroying plant growth detrimental to the land, preventing or combating land degradation (other than by using fences), erecting fences to keep animals out of areas affected by land degradation to prevent or limit the extension or worsening of land degradation in the area and to help reclaim the area and constructing drainage works to control salinity or assist in drainage control.[3] The branches of Land Operations include the Urabbaparcensian Army, which operates on lands mainly in the general community with the consent of the landholder, and the Urabba Parks Ranger Service, which functions as a gendarmerie for Urabbaparcensian sites where there is no other law enforcement service available. Furthermore, there is the option for members of Urabba Parks Pty Ltd that are environmental organisations to affiliate with Land Operations and become part of the wider Operations Network, allowing for the effective mobilisation of affiliated resources in disaster recovery and large-scale Landcare projects.
