Insignia
Insignia of a sub-lieutenant of the navy on the peaked cap is a gold band on the outward edge of the peak. On the service hat, it is a thin gold strap. The cap badge is a crowned anchor surrounded by an oak leaf wreath. Three rows of buttons are worn on the tunic.
For the cuff insignia, one regular gold band is worn with a curl facing inward. Before the dissolution of the rank of acting sub-lieutenant, the insignia was two gold bands around the cuff, one thin, one regular, with the top-most having a curl facing inward.
