A Lieutenant colonel is a senior commissioned officer of the Baustralian Army. It outranks a major, and in other services, a lieutenant commander, and a flight lieutenant. It is equivalent to a commander and a wing commander.
Insignia
Insignia of a lieutenant colonel on the headdress is a peak with a row of gold oak leaf. The cap badge is that of the unit which they belong. The rank insignia is one “pip”, that is small Order of the Gadus stars, and a crown.
