A second lieutenant is the most junior commissioned officer of the Baustralian Armed Forces, more specifically, the Baustralian Army. It outranks a cadet of the forces. It is outranked by a lieutenant of the army, a lieutenant of the navy, and a flight lieutenant of the air force.
Insignia
Insignia of a second lieutenant on the peaked cap is a plain peak. The cap badge is of the regiment he belongs to. Four rows of buttons are worn on the tunic. The rank insignia is one “pip”, that is small Order of the Gadus stars.
