High Burghermaster (male) or High Burghermistress (female) of Sveti Jovan (Serbian, Montenegrin: Велики магистар Светог Јована, Veliki magistar Svetog Jovana) is the title of the ruler of the Sveti Jovan, a 2nd-level administrative division of Græcia and disputed territory[1], located in Montenegro.
Etymology
The terms "high burghermaster" and "-mistress" were coined by Quintus De Vitaliis, inspired by the Medieval title "magister" (Latin: magister, Hellenic: μάγιστρος), preceded by the honorific adjective "high", found in terms such as "high priest", "high council", et al., in order to demonstrate the prestige of the rank among the burghers – the residents of the borough.
History
The inauguration of the High Burghermaster of Sveti Jovan followed the establishment of the borough on 18 October 2024 AD. Five days later, on 23 October, the High Burghermaster attempted to contact Austenasian authorities, in order to request information related to the territory. Although the status of the High Burghermaster was briefly questioned, Græcian authorities decided to maintain the claim over the territory, effectively reinstating the High Burghermaster's office.
Seat
The borough's seat is located in a building on Zoran Đinđić street (Serbian, Montenegrin: Улица Зорана Ђинђића (Ulica Zorana Đinđića) or, colloquially, Ђинђићева улица (Đinđićeva ulica). The street was named by the Græcian state in memory of the assassinated Serbian prime minister (2001–2003). Despite that, the High Burghermaster resides in Nea Ionia, which is not located in Montenegro.
