High Burghermaster (male) or High Burghermistress (female) of Sisypheia (Hellenic: Ὑψηλὸς Μάγιστρος τῆς Σισυφείας) is the title of the ruler of the borough of Sisypheia, a 2nd-level administrative division of Græcia, located in Corinth, Peloponnese, Hellas.
Etymology
The terms "high burghermaster" and "-mistress" were coined by Quintus De Vitaliis, inspired by the Medieval title "magister" (Latin: magister, Hellenic: μάγιστρος), preceded by the honorific adjective "high", found in terms such as "high priest", "high council", et al., in order to demonstrate the prestige of the rank among the burghers – the residents of the borough.
