Atyko Robijovych (Ukrainian: А́тіко Робíйович), known mononymously as Atyko, is a Canadian micronationalist active in the community since 2013. Atyko founded the Western Canada sector in 2020 and has served as vice president of Athabasca since 2023. He played a leading role in the Republic of Suverska throughout its existence, having served as its first prime minister from 2014 to 2018 and second president from 2018 to 2021.
Atyko‘s micronational career began with the founding of Suverska, then the Republic of East Butte, in late 2013, of which he was a part. Upon the nation’s declaration of independence as the Republic of Suwerenny in 2014, Atyko was elected as a Member of Parliament and led the Suwerenny Party (later the Liberal-Socialists) to an electoral victory, becoming prime minister. He would continue to serve as Prime Minister until 2018, when he became president, and Member of Parliament until 2019.
Atyko was elected the second president of Suverska in October 2018 and oversaw the nation’s transition from a federal parliamentary republic to a unitary semi-direct democracy as a member of the Transitional Council from 2019 to 2021. At the end of this transitional period, the presidency was abolished in favour of a five-member National Council, over which Atyko presided while serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs. On 23 February 2022, Atyko stepped down from his roles in the Suverian government on the occurrence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, initiating the total resignation of the government of Suverska on the next day.
On 9 December 2023, Atyko was inaugurated as the first vice president of Athabasca.[1]

Atyko was an original citizen of Suverska. He oversaw Suverska’s early foreign communications, including with Kevin Baugh of the Republic of Molossia in 2014. That year, Atyko became the leader of the Liberal-Socialists (then called the Suwerenny Party), and he would lead the party to two consecutive parliamentary majority victories in 2014 and 2016. Following a election result in 2018 that resulted in only a plurality of the seats, Atyko led the party as a minority government.
During its entire existence from 2013 to 2019, Atyko served as a member of the Suverian parliament including as a local representative (for East Butte from 2014 to 2016 and Paskrai for 2016 to 2018) and as a holder of an overhang seat from 2018 to 2019. As a member of parliament, he advocated for environmental policy, expansionism, and social equality in Suverska.
Atyko made official trips as Prime Minister to the United States in 2014 and to Canada in 2015 and 2017.

Following the end of John of Flosia’s time as president of Suverska, Atyko successfully ran for president in September 2018, defeating Trentij of Meteora in the second round of the election. On October 1, he entered office with a Liberal-Socialist minority government in parliament, which was elected the past May and faced significant opposition from the Prairie Party and Canada Party.[2]
Challenge from these opposition parties contributed to the governments’s inertia during the following months and was reflected in the results of the 2019 national referendums, in which the nation voted in favour of government reforms and increased autonomy in Meteora. Within weeks, parliament was dissolved in favour of a temporary government. Atyko was elected to this Transitional Council along with four other nonpartisan members who were to lead the country through a two-year transition period and draft a new constitution.[2]
As president and Transitional Council member during 2020, Atyko was a key figure in Suverska’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its expanding foreign affairs. During the writing of the 2021 Constitution of Suverska in the transitional period, Atyko vouched for an easier pathway to Suverskan citizenship for people with Indigenous ancestry on the lands claimed by Suverska, which was successfully included.[2]
Atyko made official trips as president to Canada in 2019 and was scheduled to make official trips to France, Germany, and the United Kingdom in 2020 that were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As president, he also expanded relations between Suverska and the Unified Royal States of Australis and the Dominion of Vancouver Island, among others.[2]

In accordance with the direction of the Transitional Council, the office of president was abolished exactly two years following the referendums, ending Atyko’s presidency on May 3, 2021.[2] The 2021 Constitution of Suverska went into effect on that day, and the first elections to the National Council of Suverska took place on June 25, 2021. In April 2021, Atyko announced his candidacy in these elections for the National Council. He was in his campaign and served as the member in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs beginning that month.[3]
Beyond his presidency, Atyko continued to lead Suverska throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, having isolated following potential exposure to it at times. During the pandemic, Suverska did not implement any vaccine mandate or vaccine passport policies, though it did enact mask mandates, health recommendations, and national and regional lockdowns under leadership that included Atyko.[3]
Atyko made an official trip to Canada as Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2021.
In February 2022, Atyko stepped down from his role as National Council member and Holova on the occurrence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This initiated the end of the Government of Suverska on the next day, as it resigned on 24 February 2022 in “an act of solidarity with Ukrainians worldwide.” Suverska rescinded its claims to sovereignty, and, as a result, claim and control of its possessions returned to Canada.[3]
Athabascan political career
On 9 December 2023, Atyko was inaugurated as the first vice president of Athabasca, the office being called prime minister at the time of swearing-in.[1]
Political positions
On the spectrum of classical micropatriology, Atyko’s approach with Suverska has been described as a soft secessionist. During his time as a politically active Suverian, Atyko identified himself as a libertarian socialist and environmentalist and supported policies including decentralisation, supporting co-operatives, and opposing copyright law. Atyko is a member of the Canadian New Democratic Party since 2016 and supported for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns in the United States.
Personal life
Atyko was born in Canada and baptised an Eastern Orthodox Christian. He has lived in Canada, the Netherlands, and Suverska. He lived in various communities in the Suverian region of Agionoros, including East Butte, Novchakho, Paskrai, and Veskrai. Atyko became a citizen of the Republic of Athabasca in December 2023 but continues to reside in Canada. Atyko has been an active editor on MicroWiki with the username ‘Suverska2021’ since February 2021. In December 2021, Atyko began to work at the The Northwest Sky, a newly founded Suverian publishing company, though the company later shut down.[3] In 2023, Atyko enrolled at the Imperial University of Austenasia, but withdrew from his studies due to personal reasons.[4]
