Andrew Snye (Ukrainian: Андрій Снай) (born 23 January 2005) is an Athabascan politican and activist, who currently serves as the President of Athabasca and as General Secretary of the Athabascan Sovereignist Movement.

Personal Life

Snye was born on 23 January, 2005, in Fort McMurray, Canada. He is of Ukrainian and Polish origin. Snye's interest in micronationalism can be traced back to 2018. By November 2021, Snye established the Clearwater Confederacy, originally as a school project. Besides moderate activity on Discord, Clearwater became inactive by 2022. Some argue that the Clearwater Confederacy was a predecessor to the Republic of Athabasca, however, Snye has gone on record by saying that "-outside of location, the two projects spawned out of different philosophies." ^{[citation needed]}

Snye officially established the Republic of Athabasca on 1 October, 2023, following the ratification of the state's constitution. The Athabascan Sovereignist Movement was established weeks prior, only becoming operational after declaration to serve as the sole political party in Athabasca. Snye frequently engages with domestic and digital activism, advocating for Sovereigntism and a distinct, socialist Athabascan nation-state.
