This is a brief timeline of the history of Suverska, comprising important social, economic, political, military, legal, and territorial changes and events in Suverska and its predecessor states.
Pre-Suverian history
- 1840s – European settlement begins in the area
- 1872 – the Dominion Lands Act encourages homesteaders to come to the area where they could purchase 160 acres (0.65 km2) of land for $10[1]
- 1870 – the region is incorporated into Canada as a part of the Northwest Territories[2]
- 1871 – Numbered Treaty 2 is signed[3]
- 1874 – Numbered Treaty 4 is signed[3]
- 1882 – Canadian Pacific Railway makes its way through the then District of Assiniboia
- 1885 – the Métis, led by Louis Riel, stage the North-West Rebellion and declare a provisional government; they are ultimately defeated by a Canadian militia
- 1900s – the earliest ancestors of today’s Suverians to immigrate to the area arrive, mostly from Eastern Europe[4]
- 1905 – the region enters Canadian confederation as a part of Saskatchewan[2]
- 1910s – during the First World War, Ukrainian-Canadians are declared “enemy aliens,” forced to register with the government, and some interned in camps for the duration of the war
- 1944 – the Cooperative Commonewalth Federation, led by Tommy Douglas, are elected provincially in modern-day Suverska to form the first socialist government in Canada or the United States
- 1962 – medicare is implemented in modern-day Suverska
Suverian history
Formation and early history
- 2013, October – the Republic of East Butte, the direct predecessor to Suverska, is founded and declared autonomy within Canada
- 2014, March
- the Republic of Suwerenny declares independence from Canada
- the 2014 Constitution of Suwerenny is implemented following a national referendum, ending the provisional government period
- the first presidential election makes John of Flosia (unanimously) the first president of Suverska
- the Suwerenny Party is founded
- 2014, May
- the first national census counts 16 Suverians
- the first parliamentary elections award 3 seats to the Suwerenny Party and 2 to independent candidates
- Suverska establishes bilaterial foreign relations and recognition with the Republic of Molossia
- on May 22, the government launches its official website (which would remain active online until 2019)
- 2014, June – the Canada Party is founded
- 2016, May
- the second national census counts 24 Suverians, an increase of 50.0% from 2014
- the second presidential election re-elects John of Flosia as president
- the second parliamentary elections award 4 seats to the Liberal-Socialists, 2 to the Canada Party, and 1 to an independent candidate
- 2017, May – national referendums approve the movement of the capital city to Paskrai and Meteoran integration
- 2017, June – the national capital moves from East Butte to Paskrai
- 2018, January – the region of Meteora joins Suverska
- 2018, March – the Prairie Party is founded
- 2018, May
- the third national census counts 39 Suverians, an increase of 62.5% from 2016
- the third presidential election re-elects John of Flosia as president
- the trird parliamentary elections award 4 seats to the Liberal-Socialists, 2 to the Prairie Party, 2 to the Canada Party, and 1 to an independent candidate
- 2018, October
- the fourth presidential election elects Atyko Robijovych as the second president of Suverska
- Suverska celebrates its fifth anniversary
- 2019, March – Suverska celebrates its fifth anniversary of independence
Transitional period and late history
- 2019, April – national referendums approve government reforms, the creation of a local currency, Meteoran autonomy, and renaming the country
- 2019, May
- the Transitional Council of Suverska is implemented following a national referendum, dissolving parliament and beginning the transitional period
- the government’s website goes offline
- 2020, March
- amidst the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, Suverska declares a national emergency and enters a national lockdown
- Suverska adopts its new flag
- 2020, April
- Suverska adopts its new coat of arms
- Suverska establishes bilaterial foreign relations and recognition with the Grand Duchy of Australis
- Suverska engages in communications with the Central Tibetan Administration
- 2020, May – a national estimate counts 44 Suverians, an increase of 12.8% from 2018
- 2020, July – Suverska establishes bilaterial foreign relations and recognition with the Dominion of Vancouver Island
- 2020, November – on 14 November, Suverska reports its first case of COVID-19 in Agionoros
- 2021, March – amidst a (third) wave of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in Canada, Suverska enters a national partial-lockdown
- 2021, May
- the 2021 Constitution of Suverska is implemented following a national referendum, ending the transitional government period
- a majority of Suverians have received one vaccine dose against COVID-19
- 2021, June
- 2021, July – a majority of Suverians have received two vaccine doses against COVID-19
- 2021, November – the Suverian let is implemented as the official currency
- 2021, December – during the week of 20 December, Suverska reports four cases of COVID-19 in Novchakho
- 2022, January
Dissolution
- 2022, February — the Suverian government resigns on the occurrence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine
Post-Suverian history
- 2022, October — the Suverian page on MicroWiki is recognised for good article status
