The Dominion of West Canada (Dutch: Heerschappij van Westelijk Canada), is a self-declared Crown Dominion of the United Kingdom, and an aspiring entry to the Commonwealth of Nations. The Dominion of West Canada is unrecognized by any nation and self-reliant on materials for continued existence. The Dominion of West Canada ceceded on February 18th 2021, citing the increasing Western Alienation, and Canadian Republicanism, wishing to draw itself closer to Britain.

Etymology

Canada originates from the Iroquois word "Kanata" which means "Village" or "Settlement", the word Canada is an anglicization of such coined in 1535. West is a Germanic word which originally came from the direction in which the sun set in the evening, which would evolve to mean the Cardinal direction. Together the two words form Western Canada, which refers to the region being Westernmost part of the greater North American region of Canada.

History

Founding

The idea for an independent West Canada has existed since long before the Dominion of West Canada, the Dominion of West Canada is simply a modern interpretation of this age-old concept. Western Canada has long since been alienated by the Eastern Provinces, and in extreme cases excluded, from mainstream Canadian political affairs in favor of the central provinces of Ontario and Quebec. The Dominion of Western Canada is an extension of this concept in the form of a British Dominion as opposed to some sort of new Republic.

Wexit

The Dominion of Western Canada has accepted and expanded upon many of the ideas of certain "Wexit" movements, including the assertion that Eastern Canada has been extremely unfair to Western Canada and that as a result should no longer be included in the Dominion of Canada, whereas they assert that in some cases Wexit does not stress the perceived importance of the Crown. The Dominion of West Canada has had some one-sided interactions with the Maverick Party on twitter, usually detracting certain claims made by the Canadian Party, however in spirit they have the same goal.

Government and Politics

The Parliament of West Canada is the official legislative body of West Canada and is responsible for how the country is ran. It is split into two parts, the House of Commons and the Senate. Both sections of parliament currently contain 3 and 9 seats respectively, with MPs being elected through electoral districts to the Lower House and Senators are appointed by the Governor-General on advice from the Prime Minister. The Governor-General serves for 5 years, their successor is appointed by the Queen (Or in absence of Her Majesty, by the acting Governor-General).

Crown

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the current Head of State of the Dominion of West Canada, she exercises executive authority over the Dominion, and is represented within the nation by the Governor-General. The Governor-General enacts all the duties and pleasures of the Queen and exercises it in however they deem fit to the Queen's will. The Governor-General is only able to be removed by the Queen or by Parliament five years after appointment by the Crown and the Royal Seal of the Dominion of West Canada.

Upper House

The Upper House (also known as the Red Room) is the Imperial Congress of West Canada, it consists of eight Seats which are inhabited by Lord-Governs, the Lord-Governs are appointed by the Governor-General, who are recommended to the Governor-General by the Prime Minister of West Canada. A Lord-Govern must be a citizen of West Canada and be of the age 16 or older. West Canadian Lord-Governs serve until death or until they resign, Lord-Governs can be a part of a Political Party, however it is not required.

Lower House

The Lower House (also known as the Green Room) is the House of Commons of West Canada, it consists of eighteen Seats which are seated by Members of Parliament, of whom are elected in Parliamentary elections every year. Whoever holds the most amount of Seats in the House of Commons is the ruling party, and the leader therein the Prime Minister of the Dominion. Members of Parliaments represent their constituencies and they serve as long as they are being elected by their Constituencies. The House of Commons and the Senate work in tandem to pass legislature and give it Royal Assent
