Imvrassia, officially the Empire of Imvrassia (Greek: Αυτοκρατορία της Ιμβρασίας) and alternatively in ancient greek Basileia of Imvrassia and in latin Imperium Imvrassiae, is a micronational unitary and constitutional monarchy claiming sovereignty, composed of enclaves in Greece, Spain and Germany.
With inspiration from the ancient Greek and Roman history, the foundation and independence of Imvrassia was proclaimed on 11 May 2011 by the first monarch and Head of State, Aggelos I of Imvrassia. On this day, the declaration of independence of Imvrassia was published and announced the establishment of the new state, which was organized as a Principality. Five days later, the Prince gave and enacted the first constitution of Imvrassia, establishing the constitutional monarchy as a political system of governance.
Principality Era 2011-2016
In the first year of the state's existence, efforts for diplomatic recognition began, and this resulted in the conclusion of a treaty of friendship with the Kingdom of Ruthenia on 4 August 2011 and Imvrassia's membership to the OAM until the end of the year.
On 7 March 2012, the Government of Imvrassia proceeded to reorganize the Heptarchy of New Herakleia, an inactive Hellenic micronation in Chalkidiki, Greece, proclaiming the creation of a new state, under the rule of the Prince of Imvrassia. Also in this year, on 11 December, Imvrassia put under protectorate status an another inactive Hellenic micronation, the Despotate of New Mystras.
The personal union with the Heptarchy of New Herakleia ended on 12 January 2013 with the Prince's resignation from his position as Head of State. The Imvrassian Government from 1 May 2013, had set together with Mouzilo, under a protectorate status the then Empire of Thrace (from 7 October 2015 has been a Despotate), an inactive micronation with claims in the Eastern Balkan Peninsula. On 28 June 2013 Prince Aggelos founded a new micronation, the Principality of Koumaradia and on its throne placed his oldest child, Princess Aikaterini. This micronation finally abolished on 4 October 2013 and its territories reintegrated in Imvrassia. As a culmination of diplomatic activity of Imvrassia, was founded on 25 November 2013 the Commonwealth of Hellenic Micronations, with the Imvrassian Monarch assuming the leadership of the Commonwealth. From 15 December 2013 until 19 June 2016 Imvrassia was the only independent Hellenic micronation, after the accession of Mouzilo into the Ashukov Federation and the foundation of the Principality of Doriea.
Since early October 2015, was beginning to develop a separatist movement in the province of Koumaradia which has the support of some members of the Princely House. This has the effect of granting full autonomy to the region by the Crown and the creation of an autonomous state. The autonomy continues until 16 September 2016 when the region becomes an Imvrassian Province again.
Kingdom Era 2016-2019
On 21 March 2016 after a period of five years of activity and existence, Imvrassia proceeded to upgrade its status to a kingdom. The Hellenistic and of course the Roman influence on the principles of the state played an important role in this movement and so Prince Aggelos assumed the title of King. In May 2016, Imvrassia greatly expanded with the annexation of Eleftheria, located in the United States. On 23 June 2016 the Duchy of Argadia which was a Crown land, gained independence within the framework of an agreement on cooperation with Karnia-Ruthenia. The King of Imvrassia, assumed the title of Duke of Argadia and the new state become member of the Karno-Ruthenian Empire. On 20 August 2016 the Crown Princess Aikaterini, proclaimed as Queen of Imvrassia equal to the position of King Aggelos, thus transforming the regime of Imvrassia from monarchy to diarchy. On 6 October 2016 King Aggelos reorganized the Commonwealth of Hellenic Micronations to a League of Hellenistic Micronations and remained head of the organization with the title of Hegemon. On 5 November 2016 King Aggelos abdicate from the throne and so Queen Aikaterini remain the sole monarch. On 1 December 2016 Imvrassia annexed Orfalia as an Exarchate and on 10 December 2016 Imvrassia annexed as an Exarchate its old protectorate the Despotate of New Mystras, after an agreement with the Despotate's old ruler who became an active micronationalist again.
On 14 January 2017, the Council of Ministers adopted again the Diarchy with the proclamation of Caesar Stamatios as joint King equal to the position of Queen Aikaterini.
On 8 April 2018 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new Province, the Euxeinos State which was located in Greece. On 9 August 2018 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new Province, the Duchy of Kalavria which was located in the United States. On 19 August 2018 Queen Aikaterini abdicate from the throne and so King Stamatios remained as the sole monarch. On 20 November 2018 at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet, it was decided to replace King Stamatios as he did not respond to his duties. The Crown was offered to Princess Aikaterini who accepted it and returned to the throne. On 29 November 2018 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new region, the Province of Athinon which is located in Greece. On 30 November 2018, the Government and the Crown have made a partial revision of the nobility titles, both to their friends and the members of the Royal House. To the heads of state was decided to award the titles of Kouropalates and Zoste Patrikia. The members of the Royal House was decided to adopt and use the titles of Patrikios and Patrikia, Nobelissimos and Zoste Patrikia, Despotes and Despotissa, and finally the Heir to the Throne will have the title of Caesar or Augusta.
On 7 April 2019 Euxeinos State was abolished after the resignation of its Eponymous Archon Mr. Georgios G. On 7 September 2019 Queen Aikaterini because of her non - micronational obligations, appointed Despotes Aggelos as Regent and was temporarily left the political life. On 26 September 2019 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new region, the Province of Ionisia. On 1 November 2019, the Queen returned briefly to her duties and decided to share the throne with her grandfather, Magistros Stamatios, whom he proclaimed King. It was followed a Regent's decision, according to which Queen Aikaterini and King Stamatios were named Titular Kings without real power, retaining only the royal title. On 30 December 2019 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of Great Ionia, New Byzantium and the Heptarchy of New Herakleia as Exarchates, dissolving the protectorate's status of them.
Imperial Era 2020-
The next step in the history of Imvrassia took place on 1 January 2020 with the proclamation of the Empire. Roman political influence grew throughout the previous period and eventually the adoption of the imperial regime was the culmination of political and political influences and ideas. On 4 May 2020, the Regency status since the September of the previous year expired. On 9 August 2020 the Praetorian Prefecture of Americania was abolished due the small activity and influence it exerted on the micronations of the American continent. On 24 October 2020 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new region, the Province of Argadia, a former Imvrassian Duchy and later a Karno-Ruthenian member-state as a Duchy, which had its own political course since 23 June 2016 and as independent state since 8 May 2020. On 3 November 2020 Imvrassia refresh state symbols with the adoption of a new flag, new standard and new arms for the emperors and a new coat of arms for the State. On 12 April 2021 Imvrassia expanded with the annexation of a new Province with the title of the Danish March which was located in Germany.
National colors and symbols
The political history of Imvrassia until now is divided into three periods. The first period began with the establishment of the State in May 2011 and ending in October 2013, when it was transformed from a unitary into a federal state. The second season began on 5 October 2013 and lasted until 31 January 2016, when the Prince suspended the operation of the Constitution and the repeal of the federal structure of the state. The third period began on 31 January 2016 and continues.
Unitary State 2011-2013
The first Constitution of Imvrassia was published and came into force on 16 May 2011 and a year later, on 31 May 2012, took place the first revision of the constitution. At this time, the Head of Government was the Minister of State and two governments were formed. The first government lasted from 16 May 2011 to 31 May 2012, led by Marquise Kleio. The second government, led by Princess Aikaterini, lasted from 31 May 2012 to 31 August 2012 and from 10 December 2012 to 15 January 2013. At the period from 31 August 2012 until 10 December 2012, the office of the Minister of State had been temporarily removed. On 15 January 2013, the Prince issued a series of decrees, partly revised the constitution and gathered all the executive power in his hands and the office of the Minister of State had been removed once again.
The administrative division of the State, at this period, includes as a single administrative unit the Duchy, which is governed by an official with the title of Governor.
Federal State 2013-2016
A new chapter began in the history of Imvrassia on 5 October 2013 when the Prince suggested a federal structure for the state and Imvrassia was organized as a Federal Constitutional Monarchy. The purpose of this constitutional change was to associate the monarchy with democracy, with a view to promoting more interest of the citizens on the political life of the country. Since then has been formed three governments. The first government was led by Princess Aikaterini as Federal Prime Minister, from 5 October 2013 until 20 May 2014. The second government was led by the then Grand Duke Stamatios (promotion to Magistros on 3 October 2015) as Federal Prime Minister from 20 May 2014 until 21 November 2015. The third government has formed on 21 November 2015 by Zoste Patrikia Panagiota until 1 January 2018. On 1 December 2015, after the proposal of Prince Aggelos, Imvrassia adopted the institution of co-reign. This institution has its origin in Hellenistic and Roman times, and came into force upon the proclamation of Caesar Stamatios at the office of Co - Prince of Imvrassia with the official address of His Highness the Co-Prince of Imvrassia, Stamatios I. This new office was been created in order to assist in the tasks of the Prince and his mandate lasts as long as desired by the Prince. The Constitution of Imvrassia was suspended on 31 January 2016 by the Prince. At the same day, the federal structure of the state was also cancelled and the co-Prince was dismissed from his duties.
During this period the State is divided into princely and federal territories. In the princely territories there is the Duchy as an administrative unit headed by a Duke, while in the federal territories the Grand Duchy is headed by a Governor General. The federal territories of the state on 4 July 2015 acquire the name of the Province instead of the Grand Duchy that they had until then.
Unitary State 2016-
The Imvrassia became a unitary state again on 31 January 2016, following a decision of the Prince to abolish the federal structure of the state. At the same time, he has suspended the operation of the Constitution and began to rule as an absolute monarch. On 3 February 2016 the Prince granted a new constitution and so Imvrassia returned into constitutional governance again as a constitutional monarchy and in addition, the institution of co-reign was maintained in the new constitution. On 21 March 2016 Imvrassia proclaimed to the status of a Kingdom after the decision of Prince Aggelos to assumed the title of King. This date was chosen to commemorate another political act of the Roman state, that on the same date on 629 Heraclius adopted for the monarch's official title, the title of Basileus. On 1 April 2016 King Aggelos appointed Caesar Stamatios as Co-King of Imvrassia with the official address of His Royal Highness the Co-King of Imvrassia, Stamatios I. On 20 August 2016 the Crown Princess Aikaterini, proclaimed as Queen of Imvrassia, with the official address of Her Majesty the Queen of Imvrassia, Aikaterini I equal to the position of King Aggelos, thus transforming the regime of Imvrassia from monarchy to diarchy. On 5 November 2016 King Aggelos abdicate from the throne and so Queen Aikaterini remain sole monarch.
On 14 January 2017, the Council of Ministers adopted again the Diarchy with the proclamation of Caesar Stamatios as joint King with the official address of His Majesty the King of Imvrassia, Stamatios I equal to the position of Queen Aikaterini.
From 1 January 2018 by Royal Decree Queen Aikaterini assumed the office of Chancellor and became and Head of Government, taking a more active role in the political life of the Kingdom. On 19 August 2018 Queen Aikaterini abdicate from the throne and so King Stamatios remain sole monarch. On 20 November 2018 at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet, it was decided the replacement of the King Stamatios as he did not respond to his duties. The Crown was offered to Princess Aikaterini who accepted it and returned to the throne, while she remained the head of the government.
On 25 February 2019 Magistros Stamatios has been appointed as Mesazon, ie Head of the Government. On 7 September 2019 Queen Aikaterini because of her non - micronational obligations, appointed Despotes Aggelos as Regent and was temporarily left the political life. On 26 November 2019 Marquise Aikaterini (promotion to Grand Marquise on 27 February 2020 and new promotion to Pansebaste on 24 September 2020) has been appointed as Mesazon and has formed a new Government.
On 1 January 2020 Imvrassia proclaimed to the status of an Empire after the decision of Despotes Aggelos to proclaim the Imvrassian Kings as Emperors, due to the Roman heritage of the State. On 4 May 2020, the Regency expired with the return of the Emperors on their duties, even though the co-Emperor Stamatios is purely honorary and not full-fledged co-emperor. On 3 November 2020 Imvrassia refresh state symbols with the adoption of a new flag, new standard and new arms for the emperors and a new coat of arms for the State. On 21 December 2020 by Imperial Degree, Despotes Aggelos promoted to Symbasileus, ie junior co-emperor of Imvrassia as a result of the changes decided by the Crown. On 24 December 2020 by Imperial Degree, Emperor Stamatios in the context of the changes of the Imvrassian Monarchy, honorably revoked from the rank of Emperor and received the title of Symbasileus, ie junior co-emperor. Stamatios receiving his new title, maintained his honorary imperial status and the rights to the succession to the throne but without executive powers and responsibilities. On 25 December 2020, the Empress within the framework of the co - reign, proclaimed the then junior co-emperor Aggelos as joint Emperor, to rule alongside to her.
On 9 January 2021, an imperial degree was issued by Emperor Aggelos wanting to honor the Roman Emperor John III and thus naming the reigning house of Imvrassia as the House of Vatazides. On 18 March 2021 Empress Aikaterini, honorably revoked from the rank of Empress and she received the title of Symbasilissa, ie junior co-empress. As co-emperor Stamatios, Aikaterini maintained her honorary imperial status and the rights to the succession to the throne but without executive powers and responsibilities. On 15 June 2021 an Imperial decree was issued dismissing the Government and all its responsibilities came under the responsibility of the Crown until further notice. On 1 August 2021 was issued a decision of the Privy Council , concerning the members of the Ruling House and decided for them not to take government positions, but to assist the Crown in administrative matters in the provincial administration. According to this decision, the two co-emperors took under their jurisdiction from a Praetorian Prefecture, Aikaterini the Praetorian Prefecture of Elladia and Stamatios the Praetorian Prefecture of the East.
On 1 January 2022 by Imperial Degree a new unit of the Imperial Guard founded, that of Excubitors. This unit has the same name of the Guard of the Excubitors in remembrance and honor of the respective imperial bodyguard of the Roman State. The Guard of the Excubitors will be headed by Caesar Stamatios as Heir to the Throne and his official title will be Domestikos of the Excubitors.
The administrative division of the State at this time is very rich, as they have received many changes due to political developments. The lands of Crown on 20 July 2018 changed their name from Duchy to Despotate and each of them was governed by a member of the Ruling Dynasty with the title of Governor. The rest lands of the State until the Empire's proclamation had variant names, such as Province, Autonomous State, Palatine County and Exarchate. On 1 January 2020 the Praetorian Prefecture was adopted as the main administrative division of the State. It includes the Provinces, the Exarchates and the Despotates as subdivisions, while the extent of each Praetorian Prefecture is determined by political and / or geographical criteria. On 27 December 2020 the lands of the Crown as separate administrative unit of the State were abolished and the administrative division of the State limited to the Provinces and the Exarchates (within the Praetorian Prefectures). On 22 May 2021 after a small revision of the Constitution and in order to attract new members, the subdivision of the Despotate returned as an administrative unit of the State, for autonomous state entities (similar to the dignity and the area of a Province) within the Empire. On 21 January 2022 a new admistartive division has created, the Hegemony, in order to attract new autonomous state's within the Empire. Former imperial states or kingdoms with low activity or with hellenistic or roman influences can join the Empire with full internal autonomy.

Ideology of State
The Crown and the Government of Imvrassia have adopted as an official principle of policy that Imvrassia continues the Hellenistic and Roman tradition and by extension consider Imvrassia successor of the Hellenistic kingdoms and the Roman Empire. This view is based on facts such as that Imvrassia's declaration of independence held on 11 May, the same day as Constantinople was declared the new capital of the Roman Empire, that is a micronation whose sovereignty extends in regions of the Eastern Roman Empire, the official language is Hellenic (Greek), ie the language spoken by its inhabitants as well as those in the Eastern Roman Empire and finally by the monarchical regime.
Especially for the official title of the Monarch has chosen the title of Prince in the Roman sense of the first citizen Princeps Civitatis and on 9 November 2015 becomes Prince and Despot of Imvrassia emphasizing the Roman cultural tradition. After the upgrading of the state status to be a Kingdom, the Monarch's title change to Basileus of Imvrassia, a title from ancient Greek history for the Sovereign, although it had the meaning of the King and not the Emperor according to Roman terminology as established from 629 onwards. After the proclamation of the Εmpire, the Monarch's official title changed to Basileus Autokrator of Imvrassia, a combination of the titles of Basileus and Autokrator, which mean the Emperor and the one who rules by himself, respectively. The new Monarch's title reserved for the sole or the senior emperor, if there are any other co-emperors (συμβασιλείς, symbasileis) and denoted the person who has substantive political power. Furthermore for a male monarch was added the formula of Perpetuus Augustus and for a female the formula of Most Pious Augusta. The imperial status of Imvrassia, is the result of a strong Roman heritage on the political life, the activity of the State mainly in the old Roman East and due to the official policy that considered Imvrassia as de jure successor of the Roman Empire.
From 1 December 2015 Imvrassia has adopted the institution of co - reign, an institution originating from the Hellenistic and Roman times and the monarch is capable to appoint a member of the Imperial House as his deputy to assist him in the management of the state. This has resulted that the then Caesar Stamatios as the only high-ranking official, became on 1 December 2015 until 31 January 2016 co-Prince and later on 1 April 2016 became co-King, but he was served as deputy head of state rather than as co-ruler.
From 20 August until 5 November 2016 and from 14 January 2017 until 19 August 2018 Imvrassia was a Diarchy, ie there exist two Monarchs equal to their position. From 1 November 2019 until 18 March 2021 Imvrassia became again a Diarchy, but the Monarchs had no real power for the benefit of an active regency from 1 November 2019 until 4 May 2020. However, with the appointment of Symbasileis, the institution took the form of collective leadership and come closer to the Roman way of the Consortium imperii denoting the sharing of imperial authority between a senior emperor and two or more co-emperors. Also on 23 October 2020 the Imvrassian Monarchy after a Treaty signed with Austenasia, Holy Roman Empire and Adammia, gained equal status within the states with Roman political tradition and the recognition of the full imperial rank of the Imvrassian monarch as Augustus.
On 20 March 2021, an Imperial Decree of HM Emperor Aggelos I was issued. This Decree adopted as an official stance and policy of the Imvrassian Government the view that the Imvrassian Monarch was through translatio imperii the legitimate successor in dignity of the Eastern Roman Emperors, and the official title change to Faithful Imvrassian Emperor and Autocrat of the Romans.
Furtermore the influence of Greek and Roman history is reflected in the titles which are adopted by Imvrassia both for the members of the Imperial House and for the state officials and also for the name that has been adopted for the reigning house in honor of the Roman Emperor Jonh III and became the House of Vatazides.
Religion in Imvrassia is dominated by the Greek Orthodox Church, which is within the larger communion of the Eastern Orthodox Church and it represented almost the total population. Since its founding, Imvrassia has pursued a policy of guaranteeing freedom of religious belief for all, respecting the religious beliefs and cultural tradition of its citizens.
Responsible for the foreign relations of Imvrassia, is the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs. As a basic principle for the establishment of diplomatic relations, the government of Imvrassia has adopted the respect of the cultural and political differences between the micronations. Also, the Government of Imvrassia recognizes the independence and sovereignty of each state, which signs a treaty of friendship and mutual recognition. Anyone who wants to come in contact with the Imvrassia in order to initiate diplomatic relations can send e-mail to the address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The administrative division of Imvrassia as a unitary state consists into two categories: The Praetorian Prefectures and the Hegemonies.
- The Praetorian Prefectures, are the largest administrative division of the State, as well as of the Roman Empire which originated in the reign of Emperor Constantine I (r.306-337). According to geographical or political criteria, the Crown could appoint a Praetorian Prefect to each of them with the rank of Sebastokrator/Sebastokrateira (for the members of the Imperial House) or an official with the title of Magistros or Pansebaste. The Praetorian Prefect's assistants and deputies have the office of Chartoularios and the administrative division of Praetorian Prefectures consists of the following categories :
I. The Provinces.
A Province is the basic territorial and administrative unit of Imvrassia and includes one or more territorial units. There is at least one residence, the capital of the administrative unit and there may be other administrative subdivisions. Each Province is generally governed by members of the Imperial House with the rank of Nobelissimos or Despotes and/or by citizens with the title of Count or Protosebastos and they use the title of Eponymous Archon. A Province can be divided into Themes and the Eponymous Archon can be appoint to each Theme an Archon with the title of Sebastos or Sebaste. For an Eponymous Archon there is an immediate assistant and deputy having the office of Chartoularios. Also if there are special reasons an administrative unit equal to the Province could be created by imperial degree.
II. The Exarchates.
An Exarchate is an autonomous territorial and administrative unit of Imvrassia (usually former sovereign state) and has the full inner workings of government and on administrative issues, while allowed the establishment and operation of a representative-public advisory body under the name of the House of Representatives. This body will be under the chairmanship and responsibility of the Exarch, who is appointed by the Crown and has the title of Count or Protosebastos. There is at least one residence, the capital of the administrative unit and there may be other administrative subdivisions. An Exarchate can be divided into Themes and the Exarch is able to appoint in each Theme an Archon with the title of Sebastos or Sebaste. The Exarch's immediate assistant and deputy has the office of Chartoularios and the title of Count or Protosebastos.
III. The Despotates
A Despotate is an autonomous state entity within the Empire and it may have been an independent state or it was created as an initial subdivision or it may be an appanage. A Despotate has full inner workings of government and administrative issues, though united by allegiance to the Crown. There is at least one residence, the capital of the administrative unit and there may be other administrative subdivisions. The ruler of a Despotate, a Despotes, could be a member of the Imperial House or a monarch in his own right. The two categories of Despotes are equal, in terms of the status and the rights that this title has and the only difference is that a Despotes who is member of the Imperial House has succession rights to the throne of Imvrassia. A Despotate can be divided into Archonties and the Despotes is able to appoint in each Archontia an Archon with the title of Sebastos or Sebaste. The Despotes has an assistant and deputy official with the title of Chartoularios and the title of Count or Protosebastos. If a Despotate is an autonomous hereditary monarchy, there could be a Heir who has the title of Megas Archon.
A Hegemony is an autonomous non-sovereign monarchy within the Empire, usually a former imperial state, a kingdom or a despotate which has elevated to the status of a Hegemony, and has its own monarch with the title of Sebastokrator, a title which may be also have and the younger children of the reigning emperor. A Hegemony has full inner workings of government and administrative issues, though united by allegiance to the Crown, as is the case with a Despotate. The Sebastokrator has the right to be the head of his own dynasty and to create and give titles to his relatives, to his officials and to his nobles. A Hegemony can be divided into Themes and Archonties and the Sebastokrator is able to appoint in each Theme or Archontia an Archon with the title of Sebastos or Sebaste. Also a Sebastokrator is the head of the government of his realm or he can appoint an official with the title of Chartoularios and the title of Count or Protosebastos to run his own government.
The official style of a Sebastokrator is His Royal Highness (name), Sebastokrator of (name of the Hegemony). The title of Sebastokrator as a monarch ih his own right comes immediately after that of a Co-Emperor, but isn't considered superior to the title of Caesar because the latter belongs to the Heir to the Throne. Also as in a Despotate, the Heir of the Hegemony has the title of Megas Archon.
The Imvrassia's Praetorian Prefectures and their subdivision into Provinces, Exarchates and Despotates.
