The Workers Party is a political party in the Kingdom of Northumbria. The party was founded by Adam Scargill after he and a number of other far-left politicians were suspended from the Socialist Party. Scargill and other far-left Northumbrians joined the Socialist Party in July 2021 after failing in an entryist plot to take over the National Democratic Party. They founded the October Group to promote Pitmatic Thought, a far-left ideology specific to Northumbria. Though the October group coexisted with the more centrist leadership of the party for several years, tensions emerged after the December 2023 general election. Scargill and several other members of the October group had their membership suspended after the February 2024 general election. In protest, they left the party and founded the Workers Party.
