In this traditional Sabian name, Reginavái is the matronymic and Šuber-Moss is the family name.

Anton Nathaniel Schubert-Moss, Baron Schubert-Moss (Sabian: anton natannel reginavái šuber-moss) is a Sabioveronese jurist, biologist, and former politician, who currently sits as a Magistrate in the Supreme Court of Sabia and Verona. A career politician, Schubert-Moss was minister of welfare in two governments, the second and eighth, under Osez Kóvérsz and Shounn Virny, respectively. He was Lieutenant Secretary of Elinore from 2013 to 2014, and sat in two occasions in the Sabioveronese legislature: from 2014 to 2015 in the Courts, representing Elinore, and from 2016 to 2017 in the Parliament representing Monesari.

In the early days of Sabia and Verona, he was a biology student in Caenia, though he's originally from Germany. He rose to prominence as the center of the so-called Schubert-Moss controversy, in which it was discovered he was a member of the illegal Free Suyu Front and a spy for Napoléon Bleuberrie. Since then, he has been a known supporter of the Sabioveronese left, and a vocal environmentalist. In 2015, he was one of the Valtirians involved in the Haronos Plan and became one of the first Sabioveronese settlers of the Southern Territories and Alios. From 2015 to his appointment as a Supreme Court magistrate, he belonged to the National Artists' Guild.

Early and personal life

Anton Nathaniel Schubert-Moss was born into the rich Caenian Schubert-Moss family, son of Igor Schubert-Moss and his wife, Regina Schubert-Moss (née Redwyne). He is the nephew of Unity Party politician and Nadia Schubert-Moss, wife of Osez Kóvérsz, and grandson of the famous naturalist and explorer Bruno Schubert-Moss. He was raised Lutheran, yet he would later become Atheist. Unlike many Sabioveronese politicians pre-Haronos, Schubert-Moss remained out of politics during the first stages of development of Sabia and Verona, mainly because of his father's interventions. His relationship with his father deteriorated because of their differing opinions regarding political and private matters. He enrolled in the Free University of Sabia and Verona as a biology student and graudated after the university became the University of Elinore.

Political career

Bleuberrie era and Controversy

Schubert-Moss was appointed Minister for Education and Welfare on January 1, 2013 by Osez Kóvérsz. Allegations claim that Schubert-Moss was elected for the office due to Kóvérsz' friendship with his father and Kóvérsz being married to Anton's aunt, Nadia. During his term, he was involved in a controversy (known as the Schubert-Moss controversy) during January and February 2013 when it was disclosed he was member of the FSF, and not the Socialist Party as he first stated. In December 2012 and January 2013, the Government had been dealing with Hidram Cerwyn and his Free Suyu Front, an anarchist group that had been hacking the government's computers and leaking confidential documents of the Armed Froces as protest against the newly elected Conservative government. At the time, the FSF was not an official political party and a rebellious illegal movement, and so Schubert-Moss' affiliation to the young front could not be revealed. The Socialist Party did not act against Schubert-Moss' claims due to clandestine agreements between the CM and the FSF.

However, on January 21, 2013, the Courts of Sabia and Verona agreed to lift the ban on the Free Suyu Front in order to stop the anarchist group from committing any more "crimes against the state".[1] The Free Suyu Front agreed to a "ceasefire" and Cerwyn issued a surrender declaration the same day. However, with the decriminalisation of the FSF, all data that the FSF had stolen from the government and the SVRAF was recovered. Among the stolen documents, the lists of members and collaborators of the FSF was revealed. It came to attention Schubert-Moss' name was in the list, and upon further investigation, it was revealed that Napoléon Bleuberrie and other members of the Socialist Party had been helping the Free Suyu Front by infiltrating Schubert-Moss as a Socialist Party member, and letting the FSF get to governmental documents and confidential information. Upon this evidence being presented to the Sabioveronese Government and the Regional Committee for Democracy and Stability (DMDK), arrest orders for Anton-Schubert Moss, Napoléon Bleuberrie and Hidram Cerwyn were issued. On January 22, 2013 Anton Schubert-Moss was arrested in his residence in Caenia at 13:30.

The trials was held in the afternoon of January 22, 2013. Due to the case's unusual nature, both the Courts of Sabia and Verona and the DMDK participated in the legal proceses, but the DMDK was the one to hold the veredict. Schubert-Moss, Cerwyn and Bleuberrie shared their attorney, Emmanuel Starlynn. It lasted only three hours and thirty two minutes. Due to the laws surrounding the legal proceses of a trial in Sabia and Verona, the agreements reached and the discussions held during the trial are undisclosed and belong to the state. All three defendants were found not guilty by unanimous veredict of the Karasal Council.

Post-Controversy

Following the end of his term as Minister, Schubert-Moss was nominated by the Free Suyu Front for the May 2013 election, in which he won 18% of the total vote. Although the FSF's campaign was successful in Elinore and parts of Salisse, most progressive supporters of the FSF voted for Ryam Piper and the Strawberry Party instead. Later in May 2013, the FSF and the Strawberry Party merged into the Roots Party, in which Schubert-Moss became part of the Party Board, the party's collective leadership.

Following the failed self-coup attempt of Napoléon Bleuberrie on 25 July 2013, Schubert-Moss asked for Bleuberrie and his supporting Land Army officers to be released. He participated in the demonstrations in Salisse during Bleuberrie's trial. On August 1, 2013, the City Council of Elinore announced the incumbent Lieutenant Secretary of the Municipality, Donnel Seaworth would be retiring. Elinore held a small speedy election on August 8, 2013 to elect a new Lieutenant Secretary, in which Schubert-Moss participated. He won with 75% of the votes against the Initiative for Democracy's Raphaël Rivière. He took office on August 10, 2013 in a small ceremony to which several ministers and the acting Prime Minister of Sabia and Verona at the time, Rubén Hernández attended.

In August 2014 Schubert-Moss celebrated the end of his term as Lieutenant Secretary of Elinore. He was succeeded by Petyr Cohen of the Left Alliance on 10 August 2014.

Post-Haronos political work

Schubert-Moss was one of the participants of the Haronos Plan, stage 1, and alongside Léon Galieri, Shounn Virny, Napoléon Bleuberrie, King Tarik and others, founded the city of Alios. There, he joined the National Artists' Guild, and became a candidate for a seat in Parliament in the 2015 parliamentary election. On 20 September 2015, he was elected to represent the constituency of Monesari West in the newly formed Parliament of Sabia and Verona.[2] During his first term in Parliament, Schubert-Moss pressed for reforms regarding the age of consent for human citizens in Sabia and Verona.[3]

At the 2016 general election, Schubert-Moss was re-elected to represent his constituency in Parliament.[4] Following the election's results, the Artists formed a minority coalition government with the Left Alliance, headed by Virny. Virny appointed Schubert-Moss as his new Secretary of Welfare, succeeding Viktarios Sitaesy.[4] In the latter months of the 8th government, Schubert-Moss became a vocal critic of Shounn Virny, especially on the Prime Minister's anti-reformist stance on the constitution. After the La Plata incident and the rising tensions within the Guild and with the Left Alliance, Schubert-Moss became member of the Sabioveronese Constitutional Assembly, which redacted the current Constitution of 2017, caucusing with the Left.[5]

Supreme Court appointment

After the adoption of the 2017 constitution, the Supreme Court of Sabia and Verona was created, and Schubert-Moss was named as a potential magistrate of the court. He was nominated magistrate of the Supreme Court on 22 May 2017, receiving support of the National Artists' Guild and the Left Alliance, and was appointed by the King the following day.[5] He served as the court's president (a position that rotates among the court's magistrates on a yearly basis) from 2018 to 2019.
