Royal Edicts in the Kingdom of Atovia are laws passed by the Monarch. The concept and name was first introduced during the reign of Connor I in the Democratic Kingdom of Mallanor, but they were only officially defined in the Basic Law of Atovia on 25 June 2018. Royal Edicts are legally binding, just as any other type of legislation, but they may not contravene acts of Parliament or the Basic Law itself.
