The People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske, often shortened to PDRS, was a micronation in the Kolniari Sector, inside of Glasgow, Scotland. The nation was created on 18 August 2022 in the aftermath of the Sprinske Civil War from what remained of West Sprinske. The nation was the self-declared successor to the Democratic Republic of Sprinske, and was recognised as such by the Sprinske Empire, a nation which it had close relations with.
The Head of State was referred to as the Führer, this had no connection with fascism as the nation was strictly communist, the title was selected because General Zachary Stewart of West Sprinske believed that the word sounded intimidating to his rivals, to further connect the military and government.
Unlike its predecessor, the People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske believed in positive relations with it’s neighbours, the other nations of the Kolniari Sector, and was a full member of the Kolniaric Union along with the Sprinske Empire and Catanese Republic.
Etymology
The People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske, as the successor to the earlier Democratic Republic of Sprinske, and as a communist nation, adopted a longer form of the name. The country’s name was decided by Führer Zachary Stewart, who still liked the name of the previous nation, and wanted to have a similar name for the new nation. The nation is known as the PDRS for short
History
On 17 August 2022, the Sprinske Civil War officially ended with the Treaty of Rio De Sprinske, and although most of the nation was annexed by the Sprinske Empire, its territory in South Kolniari was allowed to become a new nation, this led to the creation of the People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske the next day. The nation was given the right to become a member of the Kolniaric Union, an offer that was quickly accepted as a means of improving relations with the other Kolniaric nations after its predecessor’s strained relations with the Imperial Republic of Donkrea, and the war with the Sprinske Empire.
The People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske wishes to continue good relations with the other nations in the Kolniari Sector, and recognised Sprinske as one of its three official languages, and this improved relations with the Sprinske Empire as that nation had already began a campaign of trying to preserve the Kolniaric Languages. The People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske has claimed that it will join the Sprinske Empire in trying to preserve all of the Kolniaric Languages
Second Micronational War on Terror
After days of the Sprinske Empire’s government accusing each other of treachery, the terrorist group known as the BDA was formed and threatened to attack both the Sprinske Empire and the People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske, and after Kaetania and Gamerland joined the war, Emperor Aaron I of the Sprinske Empire met with Führer Zachary Stewart, and he agreed to join the war. After the Battle of Yeltsingrad ended in victory for the Kolniaric Union forces, the PDRS became the first country to withdraw from the war.
On 19 October 2022, it was announced that the PDRS would dissolve and be replaced by a new nation known as the Union of the Free on 24 October 2022, but it was delayed to 25 October as the Emperor of the Sprinske Empire could not attend. The nation officially dissolved on 25 October 2022 and the Union of the Free was recognised as its sole legal successor occupying all of the old nation’s territory.
Government
Just like West Sprinske, the People's Democratic Republic of Sprinske was a military dictatorship, with the Führer leading both the nation and the military, thus making a military coup unlikely. The nation was very strictly communist, and supporting ideologies such as capitalism or fascism was illegal. Freedom of speech was limited, but not to the extent of West Sprinske or the Sprinske Communist Republic. There were no elections, and political positions were granted by the Führer, jobs such as Prime Minister or Generals could only be given by the Führer, and only the most loyal communists in the nation could be given these titles.
