Peasants Front of Sunda Raya, officially known as Barisan Tani Sunda Raya or BTSR, was a peasants mass organization in the Democratic Republic of Sunda Raya that subordinates to the Supreme Workers Council. It was formed on June 20, 2014 by a decree from the Supreme Workers Council. The BTSR has a very close connection to the member parties of the United People's Front.
History
The first goal of the United People's Front was a total overhaul of the land ownership system, and extensive land reforms. Sunda's old system of capitalist ownership of farmland and tenant peasants was replaced with a distribution system in favor of poor/landless peasants. PKP laid heavy emphasis on class struggle and theoretical work, and in March, 2014 began various campaigns to promotes collectivization of productive forces, especially in agriculture.
The Supreme Workers Council realised that a mass organizations of the whole peasants of Sunda Raya is needed in order to secure the goal of the farm collectivization efforts. On June 17, 2014 the Council had decided to form a peasants front that subordinate directly to the Council. Therefore, on June 20, 2014, the Peasants Front of Sunda Raya was officially formed.
Role
The Peasants Front of Sunda Raya acted as a peasants mass organization that consolidate the whole peasants to secure the expropriation of private farms. The members have the right to carry on the expropriation together with the local soviets. However, the members of the peasants front will always try to implement a peaceful takeover, which means they will never be armed in countering the bourgeoisie, except there is an armed resistance from the bourgeoisie. Moreover, the members of the peasants front report regularly to the local workers councils and then to the Supreme Workers Council.
NEP
The implementation of the NEP (New Economic Policy) had resulted in the increase of the private sector, although the collectives still have prominent roles in the economy. The NEP only applies to the small enterprises which are not in agricultural sector. Therefore, the collectivization efforts on agriculture are still implemented.
