The November 2021 Roscamistan elections were the first and only official ministerial elections in the state’s history. The offices that were up for grabs were Defence Secretary, Minister of Finance, Foreign Secretary, Minister of Recruitment, Home Secretary, First Secretary of State and Vice President of Roscamistan [g]. The elections were called after a mandate for them was created in the Second Constitution.

Inauguration

The inaugurations happened on the same day.

Secretary of State for Defence

Doros Patusky won in this category by 75%. He also won in other categories but he chose to keep the position of Defence Secretary after the elections. He ran against Ludwig Collins and Marykate Keenan. In the first few hours, Flannery was trailing behind the other two, but gained enough votes to be elected to the position with more than a 2/3 majority.

Minister of Finance

Doros Patusky initially won this category but due to law he gave his position to Dean Merritt. The contestants were: Doros Patusky, Dean Merritt and Evan O’Neill.

Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs

Doros Patusky initially won in this category but due to law he gave the position to Thomas Jacobs as he was the only other contestant.

Minister of Recruitment

Cian Power was the only contestant in this category, he was narrowly voted in with 57.1%.

Secretary of State for Home Affairs

Fearghas MacLochlainn was the only contestant in this category, he was voted in with the percentage as Cian Power.

First Secretary of State

Thomas Jacobs was the only contestant in this category, he was voted in on a 50/50 vote, and passed the position down to Culann Burke.

Vice President of Roscamistan

Doros Patusky won this category by 75% percent, the only other candidate was Dean Merritt. Patusky had been serving as Interim Vice President until then.

Aftermath

The elections were proclaimed a success, despite this, no more ministerial elections have taken place, as the practice of electing Secretaries of State was abolished, though it did set a precedent for elections in future.
