The Right Excellent Fearghas MacLochlainn (born Fearghas MacLochlainn, 17 April 1961) is an Irish writer and teacher who is the first Interior Secretary of Roscamistan. He is the oldest member of the government, at age 61. He works at a primary school as an SNA.

In County Galway, he is a noted figure, serving as the principal of Scoil Sailearna, an Irish-speaking school, for 20 years until 2019. He is also a great grand nephew of Patrick Pearse through his great grand mother.

Time in Roscami politics

First Jacobs and Irwin presidencies

He was one of the original members of the government before the 17thMayCoup, serving as the Chief Adviser. His time was that of a background figure, not being in the public eye too much.

During the presidency of James Irwin, he didn’t work in the government as much as he once did, though after the collapse of James Irwin and the return of Thomas Jacobs to the presidency, he became active again.

Second Jacobs presidency

During the early stages of the Second Jacobs Presidency, he became the first Home Secretary and the first Governor of the Aran Islands, both on 22 July 2021.

Personal life

He was born in Dublin City, County Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland. He grew up in Dublin, moving to County Galway in his early adulthood.

He is by profession a teacher, and was head of a school outside Galway City until 2020, then he became an SNA at the same school as Thomas Jacobs. That’s how the two became friends.

He is only one of three people to invested into the Order of the Hero of Roscamistan, the others being James Irwin and Thomas Jacobs on 20 February 2022.

He is married with one child, a daughter.
