Commonwealth of Ballinfoyleburg

The Most Honourable Republic of Ballinfoyleburg, more commonly known as Ballinfoyleburg , was a micronation on the island of Ireland that was surrounded on three out of four sides by its largest neighbor, the Republic of Roscamistan, and and a small portion of its northern borders were taken up by the Empire of Östruck. It was a Catholic semi-presidential republic made up of 6 provinces. It was founded on 18 December 2021 by Sean Mulryan and Ludwig Collins.

Ballinfoyleburg was a Catholic semi-presidential republic and is governed by the directly-elected President, currently Thomas Jacobs since 27 March 2022. The Chancellor of Ballinfoyleburg was also the chairman of the Council of Ministers, the executive branch of government.

The nation was a part of the Galway Sector of micro-nationalism and followed a de facto aggressive foreign policy. It was the second most powerful nation in the sector, by agreement of the East Galway 3.

After the transition to commonwealth of the 30th of May 2022, the Republic was dissolved and replaced by the Commonwealth of Ballinfoyleburg.

Politics and government

Ballinfoyleburg was a unitary semi-presidential republic, with the President of Ballinfoyleburg as the executive head of state, and the Chancellor serving as head of government. The Vice President of Ballinfoyleburg and the Vice Chancellor were the deputy head of state and deputy head of government of Ballinfoyleburg respectively. It also meant that the Central Government was, at the end of the day, supreme.

The Republic’s government was in three branches. The executive, the legislative and the judicial branches.

The executive branch, made up of the President, Vice President, the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor and the Council of Ministers, the body that advised the President. A minister was appointed to run an executive department.

The legislative branch of government was the National Assembly, the unicameral body that held the legislative power in Ballinfoyleburg.

The judicial branch of government was compromised of the highest court, the Supreme Court, and many other regional courts for regional matters
