In Ballinfoyleburg, a Governor was the elected head of state and government of a state, the first level subdivisions in the Commonwealth of Ballinfoyleburg. The position of Governor dated from the Republic of Ballinfoyleburg days, when the nation was a unitary state. The governors were the heads of their provinces, and at first were appointed by the President, and after March 2022, when devolution was granted to the provinces, elected, and supervised by the Chancellor of Ballinfoyleburg. Governors were assisted in their administration of their respective states by a lieutenant governor. Governors served a term of three months, with limits on terms decided by the states themselves. Governor could not be removed by the President of the Commonwealth, and could only be removed by impeachment, death or resignation or expiration of term in office.
