Anti-Fontasian sentiment
Anti-Fontasian Sentiment, occasionally referred to as Fontasophobia or Antifontasianism is the resentment, hatred or discrimination against the Fontasian people of the Kingdom of Fontasia, or furthermore the people of the Assemblic region.
Origins
Anti-Fontasian sentiment most likely derives from the notably expansionist, xenophobic and ultranationalist perspectives of the Fontasian people, which for years have classified different groups of peoples or inhabitants of their numerous intermicronational empires into a strict caste system. Into the modern era of intermicronational relations with the Kingdom of Fontasia, this has prevailed with many instances of Fontasians categorizing different micronational groups as inferior or superior. This system has widely caused many Fontasians to look down upon certain micronations, or to feel as if these micronations are rivals.
The highly conservative and traditionalist characteristics of the Fontasian people have also lead to expansive discrimination against minority groups, most notably those in the LGBTQ+ community, furries, satanists and various far-left groups. Several laws and policies have been implemented in the Kingdom of Fontasia to marginalize these communities as well.
Notable Instances
Zeprana
The variation iterations of micronations bearing the name of "Zeprana" or located in the general area of these micronations named "Zeprana" have had extremely turbulent relations with Assemblian states. The first Assemblian contact was made with Zeprana sometime in late 2021, however relations between Zeprana and Assemblian states began in early 2022, with the Federal Republic of Zeprana and the Second Assemblic Federation becoming close regional allies. Despite this, the Dilu Island Dispute and Dilu War destroyed ties between the two states, leaving the young Kingdom of Fontasia to view Zeprana as a barbaric rogue state that had the mission to destroy Fontasian culture and Assemblic civilization as a whole.
The viewpoint of Zeprana being known as a terrorist state was interrupted in the middle of 2022, when ties between the Kingdom of Fontasia and Zeprana briefly healed, but since then the belief that Zeprana is Fontasia's primary adversary and rival has remained present.
Fontasians widely view the Zepranan people and more especially its leader, Terry McKeen III as uncivilized savages, who have yet to develop a true understanding of how to correctly run a functional micronation. Zeprana, according to Fontasia is a completely nonexistent micronation.
Zepranans likewise remain critical but far less intolerant against the Fontasians, as the Zepranan government has tried many times to relieve the strife caused by the various issues between the two governments, with limited Fontasian cooperation.
Faltree
Interactions between Assemblians/Fontasians and the State of Faltree have been tumultuous throughout history, as before the rise of Zeprana as a regional rival to Fontasia, Faltree was seen as the major threat to Assemblian stability regionally. First contact between Assemblians and Faltrians occurred in August 2021, with the Faltrians being critical of the Assemblians. On 14 August 2021, an altercation occurred between the Second Assemblic Federation and Faltree, which lead to a short digital conflict between the two countries, damaging relations severely and cementing Faltree as the single regional rival of Assemblia. This persisted until early 2022, as Zeprana quickly overtook Faltree as the major Fontasian regional rival.
The Kingdom of Fontasia and the State of Faltree have neutral relations with each other, as memories of the former Assemblian relations remain. In recent times however efforts have been made to improve relations to the point of a formal alliance, however these were largely unsuccessful. Both against the existence of Zeprana, as well as other regional issues, the two micronations view each other as neighbors rather than enemies. Fontasia ironically believes Faltree started the domino effect that lead to the collapse of the Second Assemblic Federation and formation of Fontasia, and accredits them to being a cause of the creation of the Kingdom of Fontasia.
Faltree, with Assemblia and early Fontasia being anti-Faltrian remains somewhat anti-Fontasian, however for the most part the two micronations see each other as equals.
Fesmar
Assemblian/Fontasian relations with the Union of Fesmarian Socialist Republics and its predecessors have almost always been extremely volatile. First gaining contact with Fesmar in late 2021, the Second Assemblic Federation highly criticized the existence of an independent Cornish nation, a key tenet in the ideology and politics of Fesmar. What further lead to the extreme hatred of Fesmar in Fontasia was the Fesmarian leader, being a so-called "transgender lesbian." Assemblia was and Fontasia currently is mostly against LGBTQ+ rights and movements, and even more so the transgender movement, with being transgender being nearly completely outlawed during the Second Assemblic Federation and currently in the Kingdom of Fontasia.
This clash of political issues lead to months long arguments and debates between Assemblian leader Emperor Conor I and Fesmarian leader Morwenna Fydtroust, leading them to both being banned from the Microwiki Discord Server. By 2022 however these debates slowly ended as contact between the two micronations was cut for the goodwill of their leaders' sanity.
Fesmar remains anti-Fontasian due to the violent confrontations with Fontasia's predecessor, and no arrangements for reconciliation have been made by either Fontasia or Fesmar.
Almendria
The relationship between the Kingdom of Fontasia and the United Socialist Republics (more commonly known as Almendria) have been extremely complex. The Second Assemblic Federation viewed Almendria as a major threat to micronational stability on the forum platform Discord, and sided with the Nexan Republic in their efforts to combat the existence and influence of Almendria. Relations and a formal alliance between the two states occurred in June 2022, however it would not last long due to Almendrian leader Tizian Aruna's pressure for Fontasia to be integrated as an Autonomous Republic of Almendria.
In mid-July, at exactly the same time ties soured with Zeprana, Fontasia diverged from Almendrian influence and declared it was a "non-factional micronation" as it did not support the Nexan Republic or the United Socialist Republics, two major spheres of influence in the community at the time. Fontasia began to advocate for Autonomous Republics to declare independence from Almendria, which lead to Almendria leading an unsuccessful raiding party against the Kingdom of Fontasia Discord Server. Since then, Fontasia has intermittently interacted with Almendria, but for the most part avoiding them as much as possible.
Almendria, to this day holds resentment to Fontasia due to their previous opinions against them, and Fontasia mutually dislikes Almendria due to various violations of Fontasian allies and foreign policy.
Ela'r'oech
The Empire of Ela'Roech and its dependencies have never truly had warm relations with the Kingdom of Fontasia, due to mutual distrust in the two remarkably similar nations. True contact between Assemblians and Elarians occurred through Zeprana in early 2022, which at that time was an Elarian colony. The various difference in relations between Fontasia and Zeprana correlated with Fontasian-Elarian relations. During mid-2022 the Kingdom of Fontasia and Ela'Roech viewed each other as allies, however this changed when Zepranan relations were destroyed in July 2022. Fontasia, in retaliation to Zeprana's betrayal of alliance with Fontasia began the systematic and deliberate undermining of the United Kingdom of the Bayou, an Elarian-lead confederacy of the Kingdom of Pontunia and Zeprana, as well the many Elarian dependencies with the key goal of creating Elarian hegemony in the Bayou sector as well as a greater Elarian empire. The result of this undermining caused the independence of Pontunia from the confederacy and the collapse of the Bayou itself, causing immense hatred in Ela'Roech against the Fontasians. Ela'Roech went as far to threatening war against Fontasia if they did invade Feildstone during the Feildstone Crisis of late summer 2022. Towards late 2022, Elarian King Charles Madgett attempted enticing Fontasia to join the League of Elarian Nations and Elarian Trade Union, which was fiercely opposed by Fontasian leadership.
The striking similarities of Fontasia and Ela'Roech have also fueled this rivalry, as both micronations have developed similarly to each other and are advanced to around the same level, as well as having similar foreign policy objectives. Fontasia has viewed Ela'Roech as an imperialist power in the New England sector, as it remains a close Zepranan ally.
The attacks of Ela'Roech and the fall of the Bayou have never been forgiven by the Elarians, and Ela'Roech remains just as anti-Fontasian as Fontasia is anti-Elarian.
Östruck
The Empire of Östruck and the Kingdom of Fontasia gained relations during mid to late 2022 through Fontasia's alliance with the Republic of Roscamistan and the annexation of Fontasian Galvegia. To this point, Östruck remains the only anti-Fontasian state to invade and occupy sovereign Fontasian territory with the October 2022 Galway Troubles.
Although peace was restored after the conflict, slight tensions been Östruck and Fontasia remain, as Östruck continues to oppose Fontasian territory being in the Galway Sector and the rest of Ireland.
Relations improved in early 2023 when the Kingdom of Fontasia and Ostruck formed an alliance.
Artharia
The Imperium Artharium and the Kingdom of Fontasia briefly were at odds with each other in summer 2022, when the Artharian leadership accused the Fontasian government of threatening their ally with so-called "hateful messages.". Such claims remain unconfirmed.
Dairajistan
The Dairaji Confederation and the Kingdom of Fontasia, since November 2022 have been opponents due to Fontasian support of the Kingdom of Scynja and denouncemnent of Ansawan as a Islamic terrorist group. Originally close Fontasian allies before the collapse of Trasona, the predecessor of Dairajistan, relations have since deteriorated after the collapse of Trasona and the Fontasian colonization of the St. Johns River Valley through the Fontasian protectorate of Trasona.
Coinin
The People's Republic of Coinin, a former Fontasian ally has supported some anti-Fontasian beliefs due to the Coinish denouncement of Fontasian claims in Ireland and Fontasia's opposition to LGBTQ+ rights and furries. The leader of Coinin, Conor Gallagher has occasionally made remarks that Zeprana and Almendria should nuke the Fontasian main communications Discord server, however these have been interpreted as a highly satirical.
