Samuel Newman, often shortened to Sam Newman, is an Anglo-Irish micronationalist, who is Secretary of State for Local Government since 10 January 2023, and the Superior Judge of Greater Roscam. Newman has also served as Speaker of the Unterhaus, before its dissolution. Newman has been involved in Roscamistan since March 2021, and has been in the Cabinet of Roscamistan since November 2021.
Early life
Newman was born in 2008 in England to an English father and an Irish mother, and after a few months moved to Ireland, where he currently residing. Newman met future President of Roscamistan Thomas Jacobs sometime in 2019, through mutual friends.
Micronationalism
Introduction
Newman was introduced to micronationalism in January to February 2021, when he learned of the Roscam Liberation Front, headed by Commander Thomas Jacobs. Though unconfirmed, it was said he was attempting to form an opposition group to the Front, and its militancy. After the declaration of the Republic of Roscamistan, he became a citizen in early March 2021.
Greater involvement
After being a low-profile private citizen and reserve army officer, Newman was selected to become a cabinet officer on 28 November 2021, being appointed to the office of Minister of Agriculture, and was also was selected by a rump house as the Speaker of the Unterhaus.
May 2022 reshuffle
Newman was reshuffled from the Agriculture ministry and became Minister of Health on the 15th of May 2022.
January 2023 Senate election
Newman was elected a Senator for the Metropolitan Constituency on the 8th of January 2023, de-seating Jan Kotoński.
Personal life
Newman lives in Roscam with his family, and he is currently in his third year of secondary school. Newman is also a fan of football club FC Barcelona.
Political beliefs
It is unknown if Newman is open about any political beliefs, though he is a member of United Front, and has advocated against other parties and independents, and believes in a one-party state under United Front.
